The "Word" of God or the "word" of God.

The King James Version makes a distinction between the "Word" of God, and the "word" of God. The Word with a capital "W" represents Jesus Christ, while the word with a lowercase "w" represents the bible. There is a distinct difference between them.

The Word of God in Revelation 19 is the Person Jesus Christ

¹¹ And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. ¹² His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. ¹³ And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. ¹⁴ And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. ¹⁵ And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. (Revelation 19:11-15)

Notice that the Word has a "sharp sword" coming out of His mouth. While the "Word" and "word" are linked and do not contradict each other, one is a person and the other is an object. A copy of the written word can be totally burn and destroyed, and that really means nothing. It does not harm Jesus or a Christian in any way. It is just a book, not a person.

The Word of God in John 1 is the Person Jesus Christ

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

⁴ In him was life; and the life was the light of men....

...⁹ That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. ¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. ¹¹ He came unto him own, and him own received him not. ¹² But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: ¹³ Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. ¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. ¹⁵ John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. ¹⁶ And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. ¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him]. (John 1:1-3;9-18)
