１ 

永井訳　また数日を経て、復び彼はカペナウムに入り来り給へり、かくてその家におはすこと聞えたり。

新改訳　数日たって、イエスがカペナウムにまた来られると、家におられることが知れ 渡った。

And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

２

永井訳　されば直に多くの者押し集まりて、もはや入り口にさへ、隙間なき程なりき。 乃ち彼は言をこれに話(ものが)たり給へり。

新改訳　それで多くの人が集まったため、戸口のところまですきまもないほどになっ た。この人たちに、イエスはみことばを話しておられた。

And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

３ 

永井訳　かくて彼の許に、四〔人〕にて担はれたる、中風の者を搬びて来れり。

新改訳　そのとき、ひとりの中風の人が四人の人にかつがれて、みもとに連れて来ら れた。

And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

永井訳　然るに群集のゆゑに彼に近づくこと能はざりき、さればそのおわはす所の屋 根を剥きて破り、中風の者の臥したる床(とこ)を釣り下ろせり。

新改訳　群集のためにイエスは近づくことができなかったので、その人々はイエスの おられるあたりの屋根をはがし、穴をあけて、中風の人を寝かせたままその床をつり降ろした。

And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

永井訳　乃ちイエス彼等の信仰を見て、中風の者に云ひ給ふ、児よ、汝の罪は汝に赦されたり。

新改訳　イエスは彼らの信仰を見て、中風の人に、「子よ、あなたの罪は赦されまし た。」と言われた。

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

永井訳　然るに学者等のうちの或る者そこに坐してありき。かくてその心のうちに勘 考しかるは、

新改訳　ところが、その場に律法学者が数人すわっていて、心の中で理屈を言った。

But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

７ 

永井訳　此の者は何故にかく冒(けがし)を話たるや。一(いつ)、即ち神に外に、誰か 罪を赦すことを得るか。

新改訳　「この人は、なぜ、あんなことを言うのか。神を汚しているのだ。神おひとりのはか、だれが罪を赦すことができよう。」

Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

永井訳　然るに直にイエスその霊にて、彼等は己自らのうちにかく勘考することを審 かに知りて、彼等の曰へり、何故に汝等はその心のうちに此等の事を勘考するや。

新改訳　彼らが心の中でこのように理屈を言っているのを、イエスはすぐみご自分の 霊で見抜いて、こう言われた。「なぜ、あなたがたは心の中でそんな理屈を言っているのか。

And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

永井訳　中風の者に、罪は汝に赦されたり、といふことと、或ひは、起きよ、何時の床 を取り上げよ、且つ歩め、といふことと孰れ易きや。

新改訳　中風の人に、『あなたの罪は赦された。』と言うのと、『起きて、寝床をたたんんで歩け。』と言うのと、どちらがやさしいか。

Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

永井訳　されど人の子は地にて罪を赦すの権あることを汝等の知るために、＝中風 の者に云ひ給ふ、＝

新改訳　人の子が地上で罪を赦す権威を持っていることを、あなたがたに知らせるた めに。」こう言ってから、中風の人に、

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

永井訳　われ汝に云ふ、起きて何時の床を取り上げよ、且つ汝の家に往け。

新改訳　「あなたに言う。起きなさい。寝床をたたんで、家に帰りなさい。」と言われ

I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

１２ 

永井訳　乃ち彼は直に起きたり、かくてすべての者の前にて、床を取り上げて出で来 りたり、さればみな驚かされき。かくて神を頌(ほ)めて云ひけるは、曾てかかる〔事〕を我等は見そことなしと。

新改訳　すると彼は起き上がり、すぐに床を取り上げて、みなの見ている前を出て行 った。それでみなの者がすっかり驚いて、「こういうことは、かって見たことがない。」と言って神をあがめた。

And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

１３ 

永井訳　また彼は復び海の辺に出で来り給う￥へり、されば群集もなその許に来りたり、乃ち彼等を教へ給へり。

新改訳　イエスはまた湖のほとりに出て行かれた。すると群集がみな、みもとにやって 来たので、彼らに教えられた。

And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.

永井訳　また彼は途すがら、関税所の坐するアルパイの〔子〕レビを見給へり。かくて 彼に云い給ふ、我に従へ。乃ち立ち上がりて彼に従へり。

新改訳　イエスは、道を通りながら、アルパヨの子レビが収税所にすわっているのを ご覧になって、「わたしについて来なさい。」と言われた。すると彼は立ち上がって従った。

And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

１５ 

永井訳　かくて彼の家にて彼の席に着き給ひしときかくありき、即ち関税人また罪人 等、イエス乃びその弟子等と同に席に着けり、そは彼等は多く、且つ彼に従ひたればなり。

新改訳　それから、イエスは、彼の家で食卓に着かれた。

And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.

永井訳　然るに学者等乃びパリサイの人々、関税人また罪人らと共に食し給ふ彼を 見て、弟子等に云へり、関税人また罪人どもと共に、彼の食し且つ飲むは何故ぞや。取税人や罪人たちも大ぜい、イエスや弟子たちといっしょに食卓に 着いていた。こういう人たちが大ぜいいて、イエスに従っていたのである。

And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?

永井訳　乃ちイエス聞きて彼等に云ひ給ふ、丈夫なる者は医士の要あらず、されど罪人を悔い改に至らしめんためなり。

新改訳　パリサイ派の律法学者たちは、イエスが罪人や取税人たちといっしょに食事 をしておられるのを見て、イエスの弟子たちにこう言った。「なぜ、あの人は取税人や罪人たちといっしょに食事をするのですか。」

When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

永井訳　またヨハネの弟子等とパリサイの人々とは断食しつつありき。かくて彼等来り て彼に云ふ、何すれぞヨハネの弟子とパリサイの人々とは断食するに、汝の弟子等は断食せざるや。

新改訳　イエスはこれを聞いて、彼らにこう言われた。「医者を必要とするのは丈夫な 者ではなく、病人です。わたしは正しい人を招くためではなく、罪人を招くために来たのです。」

And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?

永井訳　乃ちイエス彼等に曰へり、婚姻の席に在る子等は花婿の彼等と共に居るう ちは断食しることを得んや、花婿の彼等と共にある時の間は断食することを得ず。

新改訳　イエスは彼らに言われた。「花婿が自分たちといっしょにいる間、花婿の友だ ちが断食できるでしょうか。できないのです。

And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

２０

永井訳　されど日は到らん、カナ婿の彼等より奪ひ去らるるとき、さればそのとき、それらの日に彼等は断食するならん。

新改訳　しかし、花婿が彼らから取り去られる時が来ます。その日には断食します。

But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

永井訳　また仕立てしことなき切れ地の継を古き衣に縫ふ者はなし。されどもし然ら ずば、その補いし物、新しきは古きを取り去りて、破(やぶれ)は尚悪しくならん。

新改訳　だれでも、真新しい布切れで古い着物の継ぎをするようなことはしません。そ んなことをすれば、新しい継ぎ切れは古い着物を引き裂き、破れはもっとひどくなります。

No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.

２２　

永井訳　また新しき葡萄酒を古き皮に入るる者はなし。されども然らずば、葡萄酒、新しきは皮を破り、また葡萄酒も流れ出づ、かくて皮も亡ぶべし。されど新しき葡萄酒は新しき皮に入れらるるなり。

新改訳　また、だれも新しいぶどう酒を古い皮袋に入れるようなことはしません。そんなことをすれば、ぶどう酒は皮袋を張り裂き、ぶどう酒も皮袋もだめになってしまいます。新しいぶどう酒は新しい皮袋に入れるのです。」

And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

永井訳　また安息日に彼は麦畑を経て過ぎ往き給ひしときかくありき、即ち、弟子等、穂を摘みながら通り始めたり。

新改訳　ある安息日のこと、イエスは麦畠の中を通って行かれた。すると弟子たちが道々穂を摘み始めた。

And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.

２４ 

永井訳　さればパリサイの人々彼に云へり、見よ、何故に彼等は安息日に律(ただ)し からざる事を為すや。

新改訳　すると、パリサイ人たちがイエスに言った。「ご覧なさい。なぜ彼らは、安息日なのに、してはならないことをするのですか。」

And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?

２５　

永井訳　乃ち彼は彼等に云ひ給へり、汝等はダビデが、彼乃び彼と共なる人々の乏しく、且つ飢ゑしとき、為しし事を未だ読まざるか。

新改訳　イエスは彼らに言われた。「ダビデとその連れの者たちが、食物がなくなって ひもじかったとき、ダビデが何をしたか、読まなかったのですか。」

And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?

２６

永井訳　彼は祭司長アビアタルの〔日〕に、神の家に入り来り、且つ祭司の外に食ふ は律(ただ)しからざる供のパンを喰ひ、且つ彼に伴へる人々にも与へしは如何(いか)にぞや。

新改訳　アビヤタルが大祭司のころ、ダビデは神の家にはいって、祭司以外の者が 食べてはならない供えのパンを、自分も食べ、またともにいた者たちにも与へたではありませんか。」

How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?

２７  

永井訳　また彼等に云ひ給へり、安息日は人のために出でたり、人は安息日のため にあらず。

新改訳　また言われた。「安息日は人間のために設けられたのです。人間が安息日 のために造られたのではありません。

And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

２８ 

永井訳　されば人の子はまた安息日の主なり。

新改訳　人の子は安息日にも主です。」

Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
