1) The son of Terah and the renowned founder of the Jewish nation. {Matt 1:1 22:33 Luke 19:9 John 8:33 Acts 3:25} He is extolled by the apostle Paul as a pattern of faith, {Rom 4:1-17 Gal 3:6 Heb 11:8} on which count all believers in Christ have a claim to the title sons or posterity of Abraham {Gal 3:7, 29, Rom 4:11}.
