Minuscule 444

Minuscule 444 (in the Gregory-Aland numbering), δ 551 (in the Soden numbering), is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament, on parchment. Paleographically it had been assigned to the 15th century.[1]

Description
The codex contains the text of the New Testament except Book of Revelation on 324 parchment leaves (26 cm by 19.5 cm). Written in one column per page, in 25-30 lines per page.[1] It contains the lists of κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, lectionary equipment, subscriptions, στιχοι, Synaxarion, Menologion.[2] The order of books: Gospels, Acts, Catholic epistles, and Pauline epistles.[3]
History
The manuscript was bought in 1537 by one Greek man for 500 asper. Bernard Mould bought it in 1722 in Smyrna. It was bought for the University Library in 1775 for ₤20, at the celebrated book-sale of Anthony Askew.[3] The manuscript was added to the list of New Testament manuscripts by Scholz (1794-1852).[4] It was examined by Gregory in 1883.[3]
It is currently housed at the British Library (Harley 5796) in London.[1]
