Minuscule 43

Minuscule 43 (in the Gregory-Aland numbering), α 270 and ε 107 (Von Soden), is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament, on parchment leaves (20.5 by 15 cm). Paleographically it had been assigned to the 11th century.[1] Gregory suggested the 12th century.[2]

Description
It was split in two volumes. The first volume has Gospels on 199 leaves with size 20.6 cm by 16 cm. The second volume containing Acts and Epistles on 189 leaves with size 21.2 cm by 15.2 cm.[1] The codex contains entire of the New Testament, except last its book Rev. It has also some lacunae. It contains Epistula ad Carpianum, Eusebian tables, prolegomena, tables of κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, Ammonian Sections (Mark 234), Eusebian Canons, (lectionary markings and αναγνωσεις added by a later hand), subscriptions, στιχοι (James and Paul) (in Pauline epistles).[3][2]
Text
The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type with some allien readings. Aland did not place it in any of his Categories.
In 1 John 5:6 it has textual variant δι' ὕδατος καὶ πνεύματος (through water and spirit) together with the manuscripts 241, 463, 945, 1241, 1831, 1877*, 1891.[4][a]
History
Possibly it was written in Ephesus. It was given by P. de Berzi in 1661 to the Oratory of San Maglorian.[3] It was examined by Amelotte, Simon, Scholz.[2]
It is currently housed in at the Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal (8409. 8410), one of the branches of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, at Paris.[1]
