John Harding was Royal Professor of Hebrew in the University for thirteen years. He was president of the First Oxford Company, which translated from Isaiah to Malachi. Dr. Harding was President of Magdalen College and rector of Halsey, in Oxfordshire, when commisiond by King James to take part the translation of the Scriptures.
