  • 1 “Behold, my eye has seen all this, my ear has heard and understood it.
  • 1 I also know the same as what you know; I am not inferior to you.
  • 1 Certainly I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.
  • 1 But you are forgers of lies, you are all worthless physicians.
  • 1 Oh that you would all be silent, and it would be your wisdom.
  • 1 Now hear my reasoning, and pay attention to the pleadings of my lips.
  • 1 Will you speak wickedly for God? And talk deceitfully for him?
  • 1 Will you show favoritism for Him? Will you contend for God?
  • 1 Will it be well when he searches you out? Or do you mock Him as one man mocks a man.
  • 10 Certainly He will rebuke you, if you secretly show favoritism.
  • 1 Will not his excellence make you afraid? And the dread of Him fall upon you?
  • 1 Your repeated sayings are like ashes, your bodies like bodies of clay.
  • 1 “Hold your peace, leave me alone that I may speak, and let come on me what will.
  • 1 Why do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand?
  • 15 Though He kills me, yet I will trust Him, but I will preserve my own ways before Him.
  • 1 He will also be my salvation, because a hypocrite will not come before him.
  • 1 Listen carefully to my speech, and to my declaration with your ears.
  • 1 Behold now, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be vindicated.
  • 1 Who is he that will plead with me? Because now, if I hold my tongue, I will perish.
  • 1 “Only do not do two things to me; then will I not hide myself from You.
  • 1 Withdraw Your hand far from me, and do not let the dread of You make me afraid.
  • 1 Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and You respond to me.
  • 1 How many are mine iniquities and sins? Make me know my transgression and my sin.
  • 1 Why do You hide Your face, and consider me as Your enemy?
  • 1 Will You break a leaf tossed to and fro? And will You pursue dry stubble?
  • 1 For You write bitter things against me, and make me to inherit the iniquities of my youth.
  • 1 You also put my feet in the stocks, and watch all my paths strictly, You set a restraint upon the heels of my feet.
  • 28 “And man decays like a rotten thing, as clothing that is moth eaten.
