Genesis 1

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering upon the face of the waters. (TRV)

God's Active Force?

The cult of the Jehovah's Witnesses who deny the doctrine of the Trinity, also deny that the Holy Spirit is alive and have changed the correct translation of "...the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters," to:

Now the earth proved to be formless and waste and there was darkness upon the surface of [the] watery deep; and God's active force was moving to and fro over the surface of the waters," (New World Translation)

Also "active force" is written in lower case, thus, it is referred to as a common noun or phrase in general and not capitialised as a person or place becuase they conclude "it" to be a thing or a force and not something alive.
