John 1 (JTRV)

1 初に言ありき、また言は神と偕(とも)にありき、また言は神なりき。

２ 此の者は初に神と偕にありき。

３ すべての物、彼によりて刱(はじ)まれり、また刱(はじ)まりたる物に、一つとして彼を離れて刱(はじ)まりしはなし。

４ 彼に生(いのち)ありき、また此の生(いのち)は人の光なりき。

5 また光は暗に輝(かがや)く、されど暗はそれを悟(さと)らざりき。

6神より使はされたる人いでたり、その名はヨハネ。

７此の者　は証(あかし)のために来れり、即ち光に就きて証し、すべての｛人の｝彼によりて信ずるためなりしなり。

８彼は光にあらず、されど光に就きて証するためなりしなり。

９すべての人を照(て)らす光、眞(まこと)なる者は世に来りつつありき。

10彼は世にありき、また世は彼によりて刱(はじ)まれり、されど世は彼を知らざりき。

１１彼は己の物に来れり、然るに己の物はこれを受けざりき。

12 されど彼を受けし者、彼の名を信ずる者には、神の兒(むすこ)となるの権(けん)を与え給えり

１３彼等は血にて[生まるる]にあらず、また肉に意にて[生まるる]にもあらず、また人の意にて[生まるる]にもあらず、されど神の[権]にて生まれたるなり

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name [was] John.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all [men] through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but [was sent] to bear witness of that Light.

９ [That] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
