１節 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:　

されば諸(しょ)群(ぐん)集(しゅう)を見(み)て、彼(かれ)は山(やま)に登(のぼ)り給(たま)えり。かくて彼(かれ)の坐(ざ)し給(たま)いしとき、弟(で)子(し)等(ら)その許(もと)に進(すす)み来(きた)れり。

２節 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,　

乃(すなわ)ち彼(かれ)はその口(ぐち)を開(き)きて、彼(かれ)等(ら)を教(おし)えて、云(い)い給(たま)いけるは、

３節 Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

福(ふく)なる(幸(さいわ)い)者(もの)は霊(れい)に於(お)いて貧(まず)しき者(もの)〔なり〕。そは 天国(てんごく)は彼等(かれら)のものなればなり。

４節 Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

福(ふく)なる者(もの)は悲(かな)しむ者(もの)〔なり〕。そは彼等(かれら)は慰(なぐさ)めらるべければなり。

５節 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

福(ふく)なる者(もの)は柔(にゅう)和(わ) なる者(もの)〔なり〕。そは彼等(かれら)は地(ち)を嗣(つ)ぐべければなり。

６節 Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

福(ふく)なる者(もの)は義(ぎ) に飢(う)え且(か)つ渇(かわ)く者(もの)〔なり〕。そは彼等(かれら)は厭(いや)か さるべければなり。

７節 Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

福(ふく)なる者(もの)は愍(びん)（哀(あわ)れみ）深(ふか)き者(もの)〔なり〕。そは彼等(かれら)は愍(びん)を見出(みだ)すべければなり。　　　　　　

８節 Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

福(ふく)なる者(もの)は心に於(おい)て淨(きよ)き者(もの)〔なり〕。そは彼等(かれら)は神(かみ)を目(め)のあたり見(み)るべければなり。　　　　　　

９節 Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

福(ふく)なる者(もの)は平和(けいわ)を為(な)す者(もの)〔なり〕。そは彼等(かれら)は神(かみ)の子(こ)と呼(よ)ばるるべければなり。　　　　　

１０節 Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

福(ふく)なるものは義(ぎ)のために迫害(はくがい) せらるる 者(もの)〔なり〕。そは天国(てんごく)は彼等(かれら)のものなればなり。　　　　　　

１１節 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

我(わ)がために人々汝等(ひとびとなんじら)を罵(ののし) りまた迫害(はくがい)し、また偽(いつわ)り つつ汝等(なんじら)に逆(さか)らい て、もろもろの悪(あ)しき詞(し)（言葉(ことば)）をいはば 、そのとき福(ふく)なる者(もの)は汝等(なんじら)なり。

１２節 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

喜(よろこ)び且(か)つ歓(よろこ)べ。そは汝等(なんじら)の報天(ほうてん)に於(おい)て大(だい)なればなり。そは彼等(かれら)は汝等(なんじら)より先(さき)にありし豫言者(よげんしゃ)をば かく迫害(はくがい)したればなり。

１３節 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

汝等は地の塩(しお)なり。されどもし塩効(しおこう)（効(き)き目(め) ）なくならんには、何(なに)に入(い)れて塩(しお)すらるべきや。もはや少(すこ)しも能(あた)（力(ちから)）あらざれば、唯投(ただな)げ出(だ)されて、人(ひと)に蹂(ふ)みなじらるるのみ。　　　　　　　

１４節 You are the light of the world. A town put on a hill may be seen by all.

汝等は世(よ)の光(ひかり)なり。山(やま)の上(うえ)に置(お)かれたる市(まち)は隠(かく) るること能(あた)はず。

１５節 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

また彼等は燈(とう)火(か)を点(とも)し て、枡(ます) の下(した)に置(お)かず。されど燈火台(とうかだい)の上(うえ)に〔置(お)く〕、乃(すなわ)ち家(いえ)のうちなるもののすべてを照(て)ら さん。

１６節 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.　

かくの如(ごと)く汝等の光(ひかり)をして 、人々(ひとびと)の前(まえ)に照(て)らしめよ、これ汝等の良(よ)い行(おこ)（わざ）を見(み)て、天(あめ)に〔おわす 〕汝等の父(ちち)を彼等の頌(ほ)めるためなり。

１７節 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

われ掟(おき)或(て)ひは豫(よ)言(げん)者(しゃ)等(ら)を壊(こわ)（やぶ）るために到(いた)れりと思(おも)う勿(なく)れ 。壊(こわ)（やぶ）るためあらず、されど成就(じょうじゅ)するため〔なり〕。

１８節 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

そは誠(まこと)にわれ汝等に云(い)はん 、天(あめ)と地(ち)との過(す)ぎ去(さ)るまでに尽(つ)く成(な)らずして、一点或(いちてんある)ひは一画(いっかく)も必(かなら)ず掟(おきて) より過(す)ぎ去ることなかるべければなり。

１９節 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

是(これ)の故(ゆえ)に誰(だれ)にても此等(これら)の誠(まこと)のいと小(ちい)さき一(ひと)つうぃ破(やぶ)り、またその如(ごと)くに人(ひと)を教(おし)えん者(しゃ)は、天国(てんごく)にていと小(ちい)さき〔者(もの)〕と呼(よ)ばれん。されどこれを為(な)し、且(か)つ教えん者(しゃ)、此(こ)の者(もの)は天国(てんごく)に於(おい)て大(だい)なる者(もの)と呼(よ)ばるべし 。

２０節 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

そはわれ汝等に云はん、学(がく)者(しゃ)等(ら)またパリサイの人々の〔義(ぎ)〕より汝等の義の勝(まさ)らずば、必(かなら)ず天(てん)国(ごく)に入(い)り来(く)らざるべければなり 。

２１節 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

殺(ころ)すべからず、誰(だれ)にても殺(ころ)したる者(もの)は裁(さばき) に当(あた)るべし、と古(いにしえ)の人(ひと) に対(たい) ひて 謂(い)はれしことを汝等は聞けり。

２２節 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

されど我(われ)は汝等に云(い)はん、すべて軽(かる)々しくその兄弟(きょうだい)を怒(おこ)る者(もの)は裁(さばき)に当(あた)るべし、また誰(だれ)にてもその兄弟(きょうだい)に対(たい)いて、愚者(おろかもの)よ、といはん 者(もの)は議会(ぎかい)に当(あた)るべく、また誰(だれ)にても、痴者(しれもの)よ、といはん者(もの)はゲヘナ(地獄(じごく))にまで当(あた)るべし。

２３節 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

是(これ)の故(ゆえ)に汝(なんじ)もし汝の供(とも)へ物(もの)を祭壇(さいだん)に献(ささ)げんとして、汝の兄弟(きょうだい)の汝に逆(さか)らい、何事(なにごと)かもつことを、そこにて憶(おも)い出(で)でなば 、

２４節 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

その供(とも)へ物(もの)をそこに、祭壇(さいだん)の前(まえ)に差(さ)しおき、往(い)きて先(さき)づその兄弟(きょうだい)に和睦(わぼく)せよ、かくてそのとき、到(いた)りて、汝(なんじ)の供(とも)へ物(もの)を献(ささ)げよ。

２５節 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

汝(なんじ)を訴(うった)ふる者(もの)と共(とも)に道(みち)にあるうちに、速（速(すみ)やか）にこれと和解(わかい)せよ。然(しか)らずんば訴(うった)ふる者(もの)は汝を（裁(さば)き人(ひと) ）に付(つ)（渡(わた)）し裁(さば)き人(ひと)は汝を使丁(しちょう) に付(つ)し、かく檻倉(おりくら)（かんそう＝牢獄(ろうごく)）に汝は投(な)げ入(い)れられん。　　　　　　

２６節 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

誠(まこと)にわれ汝(なんじ)に云(い)はん、最後(さいご)のコドラントをも償(つくな) ふまで、必(かなら)ず汝は彼処(あそこ)より出(で)で来(こ)らざるべし 。　　　　　　

２７節 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

姦(かん)淫(いん)すべからず、と古(いにしえ)の人(ひと)に対(むか)ひて謂(い)はれしことを汝(なんじ)等(ら)聞(き)けり。

２８節 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

されど我(われ)は汝等(なんじら)に云(い)はん、すべて情欲(じょうよく) のたねに婦(ふ)（おんな）を視(み)る者(もの)は、既(すで)にその心(こころ)に於(おい)て彼(かれ)と姦淫(かんいん)を犯(おか) せるなり。

２９節 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.

さればもし右(みぎ)なる汝(なんじ)の目汝(めなんじ)を躓(つまず)かしめなば 、汝よりこれを抉(えぐ)り出(だ)し て投(な)げ よ。そは汝の肢(あし)（えだ）の一(ひと)つを亡(ほろ)ぼして、體(からだ)を全(まった)くゲヘナ(地獄(じごく))に投(な)げ入(い)れられざるは 、汝のために益(えき) なればなり。　　　　　　　

３０節 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.

またもし汝(なんじ)の右(みぎ)の手汝(てなんじ)を躓(つまず)かしめなば、汝より切(き)り放(はな)ちて投(な)げよ。そは汝の肢(あし)の一(ひと)つを亡(ほろ)ぼして、體(からだ)を全(まった)くゲヘナに投(な)げ入(い)れられざるは、汝(なんじ)のために益(えき)なればなり。　　　　　　

３１節 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

また誰(だれ)にてもその妻(つま)を去(さ)らんとせば、これに去(さ)り状(じょう)を与(あた)ふべし、と謂(い)はれたり。　　　　　　

３２節 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

されど我(われ)は汝等(なんじら)に云(い)はん、すべて淫行(いんこう)の言(げん)（ことば）のほか、その妻(つま)を去(さ)る者(もの)は、これに姦淫(かんいん)を犯(おか)さしむる なり。また去(さ)られたる彼(かれ)を娶(めと)る 者(もの)も姦淫(かんいん)を犯(おか)すなり。　　　　　　

３３節 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

復(また)た偽(いつわ)り誓(ちか)ふべからず、汝の　誓(ちか)を主(おも)に果(はた)すべし、と古(いにしえ)の人(ひと)に対(たい)ひて 謂(い)はれしことを汝等聞(なんじなどき)けり。　　　　　　　

３４節 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

されど我(われ)は汝(なんじ)等(ら)に云(い)はん、全(まった)く誓(ちか)ふ勿(なか)れ。天をもても〔誓(ちか)ふ〕勿(なか)れ、是(これ)れ神(かみ)の位(くらい)なるが故(ゆえ)なり。　　　　　　

３５節 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

また地(ち)をもても〔誓(ちか)ふ〕勿(なか)れ、是(これ)れ彼の足(あし)の足台(あしだい)なるが故(ゆえ)なり。またエロソルマをもても〔誓(ちか)ふ〕勿(なか)れ、是(こ)れ大王(だいおう)の市(まち)なるが故(ゆえ)なり。

３６節 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

また汝(なんじ)の頭(あたま)をもても誓(ちか)ふ勿(なか)れ、そは一筋(ひとすじ)の髪(かみ)をも、汝(なんじ)は白(しろ)くなし 、或(ある)ひは黒(くろ)くすること能(あた)はざるが故(ゆえ)なり。

３７節 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

されば汝等(なんじら)の言(げん)は、然(しか)り然(しか)り、否否(いないな)たるべし。これより過(す)ぐるは悪(あく)よち〔出(い)づる〕なり。　　　　　　

３８節 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

目(め)には目(め)を、また歯(は)には歯(は)を、と謂(い)はれしことを汝(なんじ)等(ら)聞(き)けり。

３９節 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

されど我(われ)は汝等(なんじら)に云(い)はん、悪(あく)に逆(さか)らふなかれ、されど誰(だれ)か汝(なんじ)の右(みぎ)の頬(ほお)に於(おい)て汝(なんじ)を平手打(ひらてう)ちせば、別(べつ)〔の頬(ほお)〕をもこれに向(む)けよ。

４０節 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have [thy] cloke also.

また汝(なんじ)を訴(うった)へてその下衣(したぎ)を取(と)らんと欲(ほっ)する者(もの)には、上衣(うわぎ)をも彼(かれ)に委(ゆだ)ね よ。

４１節 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

また誰(だれ)か汝(なんじ)を強(し)ひ て一里往(いちりい)かしめなば、これと共(とも)に二(に)〔里(さと)〕往(い)け。

４２節 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

汝(なんじ)に求(もと)る者(もの)には与(あた)へよ。また汝(なんじ)より借(か)らんと欲(ほっ)する者(もの)を拒(こば)む 勿(なか)れ。

４３節 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

汝(なんじ)の隣人(りんじん)を愛(あい)し、また汝の敵(てき)を憎(にく)むべし、と謂(い)はれしことを汝等聞(なんじらき)けり。

４４節 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

されど我(われ)は汝等に云(い)はん、汝の敵(てき)を愛(あい)し、汝を詛(そ)ふ者(もの)を祝(しゅく)し、汝を憎(にく)む者(もの)を良(よ)く為(な)し、汝を軽(か)ろしめ また汝を迫(はく)害(がい)する者(もの)のために祈(いの)るべし。

４５節 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

これ天(あめ)に〔おわす〕汝(なんじ)の父(ちち)と汝等(なんじら)のならんためなり。そは彼(かれ)はその陽(ひ)を悪(あ)しき者(もの)の上(うえ)にも、また善(よ)き者(もの)の〔上(うえ)にも〕昇(のぼ)らしめ給(たま)ひ、また義(ただ)しき者(もの)と義(ただ)しからざる者(もの)との上(うえ)に雨(あめ)（あめふ）らしめ給(たま)ふ。　　　　　　　

４６節 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

汝等(なんじら)もし己(おのれ) を愛(あい)する者(もの)を愛(あい)するとも、何等(なんら)の報(むく) あらんや 。関税人等(かんぜいにんら)も同(おな)じ事(こと)を為(な)さざるか。　　　　　　

４７節 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so?

また汝等(なんじら)もし唯己(ただおのれ)が兄弟等(きょうだいら)にのみ挨拶(あいさつ)するとも、何(なん)の勝(まさ)れることを為(な)すとせんや。関税人等(かんぜいじんら)もかく為(な)さざるか。

４８節 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

是(これ)の故(ゆえ)に天(あめ)に〔おわす〕汝等(なんじら)の父(ちち)の完(かん)きが如(ごと)く、汝等も完(かん)き者(もの)たるべし。
