１１章

１ 永井訳　かくて彼等はエルサレムに、エライオンの山の対（むかひ）なるベテパゲとベ タニヤに近づきしとき、彼は弟子等のうちのニ〔人〕を使はし、

新改訳　さて、彼らがエルサレムの近くに来て、オリーブ山のふもとのベテパゲベタニ ヤに近づいたちき、イエスはふたりの弟子を使いに出して、

And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

２ 永井訳　且つこれに云ひ給ふ、汝等の対なる村に往け。かくてそれに入り往かば、直 に未だ人の乗りしことなき、繋がれたる仔驢馬を汝等は見出すならん、それを釈（と）きて連れ来れ。

新改訳　言われました。「向こうの村へ行きなさい。村にはいるとすぐ、まだだれも乗 ったことのない、ろばの子が、つないであるのに気がつくでしょう。それをほどいて、引いて来なさい。

And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.

３ 永井訳　またもしだれぞ汝等に、何故に汝等はかく為すや、といはば、主これを要し給ふといへ、されば直（ただち）に彼はそれを此処に使はすならん。

新改訳　もし、『なぜそんなことをするのか。』と言う人があったら、『主がお入用なのです。すぐに、またここに送り返されます。』と言いなさい。

And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

４ 永井訳　乃ち彼等は去れり。かくて路にそひ、外の戸に対（むか）ひて繋がれたる仔驢馬を見出せり、乃ち彼等はそれを釈けり。

新改訳　そこで、出かけて見ると、表通りにある家の戸口に、ろばの子が一匹つないであったので、それをほどいた。

And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.

５ 永井訳　然るにそこに立てる或る者云へり、汝等は仔驢馬を釈きて何にするや。

新改訳　すると、そこに立っていた何人かが言った。「ろばの子をほどいたりして、どうするのか。」

And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?

６ 永井訳　乃ち彼等イエスの命じ給ひし如くこれにいひければ、彼等を許したり。

新改訳　弟子たちが、イエスの言われたとおりを話すと、彼らは許してくれた。

And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.

７ 永井訳　かくて彼等はイエスの許に仔驢馬を連れ来れり。またその上に彼等の衣を掛けたり。乃ち彼はこれに乗り給へり。

新改訳　そこで、ろばの子をイエスのところへ引いて行って、自分たちの上着をその上に掛けた。イエスはそれに乗られた。

And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.

８ 永井訳　かくて多くの者は己が衣を道に敷き、また別の者は樹より枝を伐（き）り落し て、これを道に敷けり。

新改訳　すると、多くの人が、自分たちの上着を道に敷き、またほかの人々は、木の葉を枝ごと野原から切って来て、道に敷いた。

And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

９ 永井訳　また先立ち往く人々と、〔後ろに〕従ふ人々と叫び出でつつありき、云ひける は、ホザナよ、主の名に於て来たる者は、祝せられたる者かな。

新改訳　そして、前を行く者も、あとに従う者も、叫んでいた。

And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

１０ 永井訳　主の名に於て来る、我等の父ダビデの国は祝せられたるかな、至高き処にホザナよ。

新改訳　「ホサナ。祝福あれ。主の御名によって来られる方に。祝福あれ。いま来た、 われらの父ダビデの国に。ホサナ。いと高き所に。」

Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.

１１ 永井訳　かくてイエスはエロソルマに、また神殿に入り来り給ひて、すべてのものを視 回し給ひ、時既に夕なりしかば、十二と共に出でてベタニヤに来給へり。

新改訳　こうして、イエスはエルサレムに着き、宮にはいられた。そして、すべてを見 て回った後、時間ももうおそかったので、十二弟死といっしょにベタニヤに出て行かれた。

And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.

１２ 永井訳　また明くる日に、彼等のベタニヤより出で来りしとき、彼は飢え給へり。

新改訳　翌日、彼らがベタニヤを出たとき、イエスは空腹を覚えられた。

And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

１３ 永井訳　かくて遥かに葉のある無花果樹を見給ひて、彼は何かをその〔樹に〕見出だ すこともあらんとて到り給へり。然ろにその下に到り給ひしに、葉の外に何も見出し給はざりき。そは無花果の期にあらざりしが故なり。

新改訳　葉の茂ったいちじくの木が遠くに見えたので、それに何かありはしないかと見 に行かれたが、そこに来ると、葉のほかには何もないのに気づかれた。いちじくのなる季節ではなかったからである。

And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

１４ 永井訳　乃ちイエス答へてこれに曰へり、今より後いつまでも、誰も汝の実を喰はざれ。また弟子等これを聞けり。

新改訳　イエスは、その木に向かって言われた。「今後、いつまでも、だれもおまえの 実を食べることのないように。」弟子たちはこれを聞いていた。

And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

１５ 永井訳　かくて彼等はエロソルマに来る。乃ちイエスは神殿に入り来り給ひて、神殿 のうちにて売る者と買う者とを逐い出し、また両替する者の台と鴿（はと）を売る者の腰掛とを倒し始め給へり。

新改訳　それから、彼らはエルサレムに着いた。イエスは宮にはいり、宮の中で売り買いしている人々を追い出し始め、両替人の台や、鳩を売る者たちの腰掛を倒し、

And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;

１６ 永井訳　また誰にても器を携へて神殿を通るを差しおき給はざりき。

新改訳　また宮を通り抜けて器具を運ぶことをだれにもお許しにならなかった。

And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

１７ 永井訳　また教へて彼等に云ひ給ひけるは、我が家はすべての国人のための祷の家と称へらるべし、と録されたるにあらずや、然るに汝等はこれを強盗どもの巣と為せり。

新改訳　そして、彼らに教えて言われた。「『わたしの家は、すべての民の祈りの家と 呼ばれる。』とかいてあるではありませんか。それなのに、あなたがたはそれを強盗の巣にしたのです。」

And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

１８ 永井訳　然るに学者等と祭司長らとは聞きて、如何にして彼を亡ぼすべきかを索めたり。そは彼等は彼を懼れたればなり。そは群集みなその教に驚かされたるが故なり。

新改訳　祭司長、律法学者たちは聞いて、どのようにしてイエスを殺そうかと相談した。イエスを恐れたからであった。なぜなら、群集がみなイエスの教えに驚嘆していたからである。

And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

１９ 永井訳　かくて夕になりしとき、彼は市の外に出で往き給へり。

新改訳　夕方になると、イエスとその弟子たちは、いつも都から外に出た。

And when even was come, he went out of the city.

２０ 永井訳　また夜明に往きがけに、彼等は根より枯れたる無花果樹を見たり。

新改訳　朝早く、通りかりに見ると、いちじくの木が根まで枯れていた。

And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

２１ 永井訳　さればペテロ想い出でて彼に云ふ、ラビ、見給へ、汝のひ給ひし無花果樹は枯れたり。

新改訳　ペテロは思い出して、イエスに言った。「先生。ご覧なさい。あなたののろわ れたいちじくの木が枯れました。」

And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

２２ 永井訳　乃ちイエス答へて彼等に云ひ給ふ、神んも信仰をもて。

新改訳　イエスは答えた言われた。「神を信じなさい。

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

２３ 永井訳　誠にわれ汝等に云はん、誰にても此の山に、汝取り去られよ、且つ海に投 げ入れられよ、といはんに、その心に疑なく、されど云ふことは応ふと信ずる者、彼には〔その如く〕あるべし。

新改訳　まことに、あなたがたに告げます。だれでも、この山に向かって、『動いて、海にはいれ。』と言って、心の中で疑わず、ただ、自分の言ったとおりになると信じるなら、そのとおりになります。

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

２４ 永井訳　此のゆゑに我汝等に云はん、すべて何事にても汝等の祈りつつ求むることは受けたりと信ぜよ。されば汝等に〔その如く〕あるべし。

新改訳　だからあなたがたに言うのです。祈って求めるものは何でも、すでに受けたと信じなさい。そうすれば、そのとおりになります。

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

２５ 永井訳　また汝等祷に立たんとき、何人に逆らひて如何なることのありとも、これを赦 せ。是れ天に〔おはす〕汝等の父も、汝等の曲事（まがごと＝過ち）を汝等に赦し給ふためなり。

新改訳　また立って祈っているとき、だれかに対して恨み事があったら、赦してやりな さい。そうすれば、天におられるあなたがたの父も、あなたがたの罪を赦してくださいまさす。」

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

２６ 永井訳　されど汝等もし赦さずば、天に〔おはす〕汝等の父も、汝等の曲事を赦し給は ざるべし。

新改訳　（新改訳にこの節なし）

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

２７ 永井訳　かくて彼等は復たエロソルマに来る。また神殿にて彼の歩み給ふとき、祭司長等と学者等と長老等と彼の許に来る。

新改訳　彼らはまたエルサレムに来た。イエスが宮の中を歩いておられると、祭司長、律法学者、長老たちが、イエスのところにやって来た。

And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,

２８ 永井訳　かくて彼等は彼に云ふ、何の権にて此等の事を汝は為すや。また此等の事を汝の為すために、誰が汝に此の権を与へしや。

新改訳　そしてイエスに言った。「何の権威によって、これらのことをしておられるのですか。だれが、あなたにこれらのことをする権威を授けたのですか。」

And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?

２９ 永井訳　乃ちイエス答へて彼等に曰へり、我も一と言を汝等に問はん、されば我に答へよ、何の権にて此等の事を我は為すかを、我汝等に謂ふべし。

新改訳　そこでイエスは彼らに言われた。「一言尋ねますから、それに答えなさい。そ うすれば、わたしも、何の権威によってこれらのことをしているかを、話しましょう。

And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

３０ 永井訳　かのヨハネのバプテズマは天よりなりしか、或は人よりか、我に答へよ。

新改訳　ヨハネのバプテスマは、天から来たのですか、人から出たのですか。答えな さい。」

The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

３１ 永井訳　然るに彼等己自らに対ひ勘考して、云ひけるは、我等もし天よりといはんか、是の故に何すれぞ汝等は彼を信ぜざりしや、と彼謂ふならん。

新改訳　すると、彼らは、こう言いながら、互いに論じ合った。「もし、天から、と言えば、それならなぜ、彼を信じなかったかと言うだろう。

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

３２ 永井訳　されど我等もし人よりといはんか。彼等は民を懼れたり、そは「すべての者、 彼は実（まこと）に豫言者なりきとヨハネを保ちたればなり。

新改訳　　だからといって、人から、と言ってよいだろうか。」―彼らは群集を恐れていたのである。というのは、人々がみな、ヨハネは確かに預言者だと思っていたからである。 　

But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.

３３ 永井訳　かくて答へて彼等イエスに云ふ、我等知らず。乃ちイエス答へて彼等に云ひ 給ふ、我も何の権にて此等の事を、我は為すかを汝等に云はじ。

新改訳　そこで彼らは、イエスに答えて、「わかりません。」と言った。そこでイエスは彼らに、「わたしも、何の権威によってこれらのことをするのか、あなたがたに話すまい。」と言われた。

And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
