１ And it came to pass, [that] when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

かくてイエスの此等の言を終り給ひしときかくありき。ガリラヤより移りて、ヨルダンの向側なるユダヤの境に到り給へり。

２ And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

また多くの群衆彼に従ひたれば、そこにて彼等を癒し給へり。

３ The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

かくてパリサイの人々、彼を試みんとて進み来り、且つ云ひけるは、何の理由にてもその妻を去るは人にとりて律（ただ）しきや。

4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made [them] at the beginning made them male and female,

然るに答へて彼等に曰へり、これを造り給ひし者は初より男子と女子とに為し給ひ、

５ And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

且つ彼はこれがために、人は父と母とを措きてその妻に粘（つ）くべし。即ち二者一つの身たるべし、と曰ひしを汝等は読まざるか。

６ Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

さればもはや二つにはあらず、されど一つの身なり。是の故に神の合せ給ひし者、人これを離すべからず。

７ They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

彼等云ふ、されば何故モヲゼは去り状を与へ、且つこれを去ることを命ぜしや。　　　　　　

８ He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

彼云ひ給ふ、モヲゼは汝等の頑なる心に対して、汝等の妻を去ることを許したり。されど初よりかくはあらざりき。

９ And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except [it be] for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

さればわれ汝等に云はん、誰にても淫行の故ならでその妻を去り、且つ別の者を娶る者は姦淫を犯す〔なり〕と。

１０ His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with [his] wife, it is not good to marry.

弟子等彼に云ふ、もし人の、妻に対する理由かくの如くならば、娶らざるは益なり。　　　　　　

１１ But he said unto them, All [men] cannot receive this saying, save [they] to whom it is given.

然るに彼曰へり、此の言を受くるはすべて〔の者〕にあらず、唯与へられたる者のみ。　　　　　　

１２ For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from [their] mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive [it], let him receive [it].

そは母の胎よりかく生まれたつ寺人あり、また人より寺人になされたる寺人あり、また天国のゆゑに己自ら寺人になれる寺人あればなり。受くることを得る者は受くべし。　　　　　　

１３ Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put [his] hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

そのとき幼児等は手をその上に按き、且つ祈り給はんために、彼の許に連れ来られけるに、弟子等これを叱したり。

１４ But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

然るにイエス曰へり、幼児等を差しおけ、且つ我が許に来るを禁ずる勿れ。そは天国はかくの如き者のものなればなり。

１５ And he laid [his] hands on them, and departed thence.

かくて彼は手を彼等の上に按き給ひて〔後〕、そこより往き給へり。

１６ And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

また見よ、一〔人〕彼の許に進み来りていへり、善師よ、恒（とこしへ）の生（いのち）を得るために、如何なる善をわれ為すべきや。

１７ And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

乃ち彼曰へり、何故に汝は我を善といふや。善は一、即ち神の外にあるなし。されど汝もし生に入り来らんと欲せば、誡を護れ。

１８ He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

彼云ふ、孰（いず）れをなるや。乃ちイエス曰へり、殺す勿れ、偽の証を立つる勿れ、

１９ Honour thy father and [thy] mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

汝の父と母とを敬へ、また汝の隣人を汝自身の如く愛すべし、是れなり。

２０ The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

若き者彼に云ふ、我は幼少よりすべて此等の事を衛（まも）れり。われ尚ほ何を欠くや。　　　　　　

２１ Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go [and] sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come [and] follow me.

イエス述べ給ひけるは、汝もし完き者たらんと欲せば、往け、汝の有（も）ち物を売り、且つ貧しき者に与へよ。されば汝は天に於て宝を有たん、かくて来り、我に従へ。　　　　　　

２２ But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

然るに若き者この言を聞きしとき、哀しみて去れり。そは彼は大なる資産を有ちたればなり。　　　　　　

２３ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

かくてイエス弟子等に曰へり、誠にわれ汝等に云はん、富める者の天国に入り来るは難しと。　　　　　　

　　　　　　　 ２４ And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

されば復たわれ汝等に云うはん、富める者の神の国に入り来るより、駱駝の針の穴を通るは尚ほ易し。

２５ When his disciples heard [it], they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

乃ち弟子等聞きて一方ならず驚かされ、云ひけるは、されば誰か救はるることを得ん。　　　　　　

２６ But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

然るにイエス彼等をつらつら視て曰へり、是れ人に添ふては能はざることなり。されど神に添はばすべてのこと能ふなり。

２７ Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

そのときペテロ答へて彼にいへり、見よ、我等一切を差しおきて汝に従へり。されば我等に何あるべきや。

２８ And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

乃ちイエス彼等に曰へり、誠にわれ汝等に云はん、我に従へる汝等は新なる代に於て、人の子その栄光の位に坐せんとき、汝等もイスラエルの十二の族を裁きつつ十二の位に坐すべし。　　　　　　　

　　　　　　　 ２９ And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

またすべて家、或は兄弟、或は姉妹、或は父、或は母、或は妻、或は児、或は畠を我が名のために差しおきたる者は百倍を受け、且つ恒への生を継ぐべし。

３０ But many [that are] first shall be last; and the last [shall be] first.

されど多くの者、最先なる者は最終なる者、また最終なる者は最先なる者たるべし。
