１

a　かくて彼の神殿より出で往き給ひしとき、弟子等のうちの一〔人〕云ふ、師よ、見たまへ、何たる石、また何たる建物よ。

b　イエスが、宮から出て行かれるとき、弟子のひとりがイエスに言った。「先生。これはまあ、何とみごとな石でしょう。何とすばらしい建物でしょう。」

And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!

２

a　乃ちイエス答へて彼に曰へり、汝は此等の大なる建物を視るか。必ず壊（や）ぶれざる石の上に〔一つの〕石をも遺されざるべし、

b　すると、イエスは彼に言われた。「この大きな建物を見ているのですか。石がくずされずに、積まれたまま残ることは決してありません。」

And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

a　かくて彼の、神殿の対なるエライヲンの山の上に坐し給ひしとき、ペテロまたヤコブマタヨハネまたアンデレ、人を避けて彼に問ひけるは、

b　イエスがオリーブ山で宮に向かってすわっておられると、ペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネ、アンデレが、ひそかにイエスに質問した。

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

４

a　我等の曰へ、何時此等の事あるべきや。また将に此等のすべての事の完うせられんとするとき、如何なる徴〔ある〕や。

b　「お話しください。いつ、そういうことが起こるのでしょう。また、それがみな実現するようなときには、どんな前兆があるのでしょう。」

Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

５

a　乃ちイエス彼等に答へて云ひ始め給へり、誰も汝等を惑はすことなきやう視よ。

b　そこで、イエスは彼らに話し始められた。「人に惑わされないように気をつけなさい。

And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:

６

a　そは多くの者、我なり、と云ひつつ我が名に於て来るべければなり。かくて彼等は多くの者を惑はさん。

b　わたしの名を名のる者が大ぜい現われ、『私こそそれだ。』と言って、多くの人を惑わすでしょう。

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

７

a　また汝等軍（いくさ）と軍の風聞とを聞かんとき、ふためくこと勿れ。そは必ず発（おこ）らざるべからざることなればなり。されど未だ終はあらず。

b　また戦争のことや戦争のうわさを聞いても、あわててはいけません。それは必ず起こることです。しかし、終りが来たのではありません。

And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

８

a　そは国人は国人に逆らひ、またくには国は国に逆らひて起るべければなり。またところどころに地震あるべく、また飢饉と難（くるしみ）とあるならん。此等は陣痛の初〔なり〕。

b　民族は民族に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がり、方々に地震があり、ききんも起こるはずだからです。これらのことは、産みの苦しみの始めです。

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

９

a　また汝等己自らを視よ。そは人々汝等を議会に、また会堂に付（わた）すべければなり、汝等は打たるべし、また汝等は我がために彼等に証すべく、太 守等と王等との前に立てられん。

b　だが、あなたがたは、気をつけていなさい。人々は、あなたがたを議会に引き渡し、また、あなたがたは会堂でむち打たれ、また、わたしのゆえに、長官や王たちの前に立たされます。それは彼らに対してあかそをするためです。

But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

１０

a　かくて福音は必ず先づ、すべての国人に宣べられざるべからず。

b　こうして、福音がまずあらゆる民族に宣べ伝えられなければなりません。

And the gospel must first be published among all nations.

１１

a　また人々汝等を連れ往きて付さんとき、何を話たるべきやと豫め心遺ひすること勿れ、また慮（おもんぱか）ること勿れ。されど何にても、その時汝等に与へらるる事、それを話たれ。そは話たる者は汝等にあらず、されど聖なる霊におはせばなり。

b　彼らに捕えられ、引き渡されたとき、何と言おうかなどと案じるには及びません。ただ、そのとき自分に示されることを、話しなさい。話すなはあなたがたではなく、聖霊です。

But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

１２

a　また兄弟は兄弟を死に付し、また父は児を〔付さん〕。かくて児は双親に逆らひて立ち上がり、且つこれを死罪に処すべし。

b　また兄弟は兄弟を死に渡し、父は子を死に渡し、子は両親に逆らって立ち、彼らを死に至らせます。

Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.

１３

a　また汝等は我が名のゆゑにすべてより憎まれん。されば終まで耐へ忍ぶ者、此の者は救はるべし。

b　また、わたしの名のために、あなたがたはみなの者に憎まれます。しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ人は救われます。

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

１４

a　されど汝等は豫言者ダニエルより謂（い）はれし、かの荒らすに悪（にく）むべき者の、必ず〔立つ〕べかあざる処に立つを見るとき、読む者解せよ、そのときユダヤに在る者は山に遁（にが）れよ。

b　『荒らす憎むべきもの』が、自分の立ってなならない所に立っているのを見たならば（読者はよく読み取るように。）ユダヤにいる人々は山へ逃げなさい。

But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

１５

a　また屋の上なる者は家に下り来る勿れ、またその家より何をも取り出ださんとて入り来る勿れ。

b　屋上にいる者は降りてはいけません。家から何かを取り出そうと中にはいってはいかません。

And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:

a　また畠に在る者はその衣を取らんとて、後ろにめで帰る勿れ。

b　畑にいる者は着物を取りに戻ってはいけません。

And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

１７

a　されどその日に孕みたる者と、乳を哺（ふく）ましむる者とは禍なるかな。

b　だが、その日、悲惨なのは身重の女と乳飲み子を持つ女です。

But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

１８

aされば冬、汝等の遁（のが）るることの発（おこ）らざるよう祈れ。

b　ただ、このことが冬におこらないように祈りなさい。

And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.

１９

a　そはそれらの日に、神の創造し給ひし創造に初より今に至るまで、かくの如きは発りしことなく、〔後も〕必ず発らざる程の艱（なやみ）あるべければなり。

b　その日は、神が天地を創造された初めから、今に至るまで、いまだかってなかったような、またこれからもないような苦難の日だからです。

For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

２０

a　されば主もしその日を少なくし給はざりしならば、すべての肉は救はれざりしならん、されど彼の選び給ひし選ばれたる者のゆゑに、その日を少なうし給へり。

b　しして、もし主がその日数を少なくしてくださらないなら、ひとりとして救われる者はないのです。しかし、主は、ご自分で選んだ選びの民のために、その日数を少なくしてきださったのです。

And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

２１

a　またそのとき誰ぞもし汝等に、見よ、キリストは此処に、或は見よ、其処に、といふとも信ずる勿れ。

b　そのとき、あなたがたに、『ほら、あそこに入る。』とか言う者があっても、信じてはいけません。

And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:

２２

a　そはもし能ふべくんば、選ばれたる者をも惑はさんために、贋キリスト等と贋豫言者等とは起り、且つ徴と奇跡とを与ふべければなり。

b　にせキリスト、にせ預言者たちが現れて、できれば選民を惑わそうとして、しるしや不思議なことをして見せます。

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

２３

a　されば汝等視よ。見よ、われ豫めすべての事を汝等に謂へり。

b　だから、気をつけていなさい。わたしは、何もかも前もって話しました。

But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

２４

a　されどそれらの日には、その艱の後に陽は暗くなり、また月はその光を与へず、

b　だが、その日には、その苦難に続いて、太陽は暗くなり、月は光を放たず、

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

２５

a　また天のもろもろの星は隕（お）ち、またもろもろの天に在る力は震（ふる）はれん。

b　星は天から落ち、天の万象は揺り動かされます。

And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

２６

a　またそのとき人々は大なる力と栄光とをもて、雲のうちに来る人の子を目にあたり見るべし。

b　そのとき、人々は、人の子が偉大な力と栄光を帯びて雲に乗って来るのを見るのです。

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

２７

a　またそのとき彼はその使等を使はして、地の極（はて）より天の極に至るまで、四つの風にてその選ばれたる者を集め給はん。

b　そのとき、人の子は、御使いたちを送り、地の果てから天の果てまで、四方からその選びの民を集めます。

And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

２８

a　されど無花果樹より喩を学べ、その枝既に柔かになりて葉のめぐむとき、汝等は夏の近づけることを知る。

b　いちじくの木から、たとえを学びなさい。枝が柔らかになって、葉が出て来ると、夏の近いことがわかります。

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:

２９

a　此の如く汝等も、此等の事の発るを見るときは〔その〕近づきて門口にあることを知れ。

b　そのように、これからのことが起こるのを見たら、人の子が戸口まで近づいていつて知りなさい。

So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

３０

a　誠にわれ汝等に云はん、此等のすべての事の発るまで、必ず此の代は過ぎ去ることなかるべし。

b　まことに、あなたがたに告げます。これらのことが全部起こってしまうまでは、この時代は過ぎ去りません。

Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

３１

a　天と地とは過ぎ去らん、されど我が言は過ぎ去らじ。

b　この天地は滅びます。しかし、わたしのことばは決して滅びることがありません。

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

３２

a　されどその日と時とに就きては、父の外に誰一人知る者なし、天に在る使等も子も〔知ること〕なし。

b　ただし、その日、その時がいつであるかは、だれも知りません。ただ父だけが知っておられます。

But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.　

３３

a　視よ、目を覚ましをれ、且つ祈れ。そは汝等期はいつなるかを知らざればなり。

b　気をつけなさい。目をさまし、注意していなさい。その定めの時がいつだか、 あなたがたは知らないからです。

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

３４

a　〔即ち〕遠国に往く人の、家を離るるとき、その奴僕おのおのに権と働とを与 へ、また門守に目を覚ましをれ、と命ぜしが如し。

b　それはちょうど、旅に立つ人が、出がけに、しもべたちにそれぞれの仕事を割り当てて責任うを持たせ、門番には目をさましているように言いつけるようなものです。

For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

３５

a　是の故に目を覚ましをれ。そは汝等家の主は夕か、或は夜半か、或は鶏鳴か、或は夜明か、いつ来るかを知らざればなり。

b　だから、目をさましていなさい。家の主人がいつ帰って来るか、夕方か、夜中 か、鶏の鳴くころか、明け方か、わからないからです。

Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

３６

a　然らざれば俄に帰りて、彼は寝（い）ぬる汝等を見出だすべし。

b　主人が不意に帰って来たとき眠っているのを見られないようにしなさい。

Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

３７

a　また我が汝等に云ふところはすべての者に云ふ〔なり〕、目を覚ましをれ。

b　わたしがあなたがたに話していることは、すべての人に言っているのです。目をさましていなさい。」

And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
