1節 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. 

かくて彼の山より下りて来り給ひしとき、多くの群衆彼に従へり。2節

2節 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

また見よ〔一人の〕癩病者来りて彼に平伏し、云ひけるは、主よ、汝もし好しとし給はば、我を淨(きよ)むることを能くし給ふ。

3節 And Jesus put forth [his] hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

さればイエスてを伸べ、彼に椚(さわ)りて云ひ給ひけるは、好し、淨まれよ。乃ち直に彼の癩病淨まれり。

4節 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

かくてイエス彼に云ひ給ふ、覩(み)よ、誰にもいふ勿れ。されど往け。汝自身を祭司に見(あら)はせ、且つ彼等に証のため、モヲゼの言ひ付けし供へ物を献げよ。      

5節 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

またイエスのカペナウムに入り来り給ひしとき、百人長進み来り乞ふて、

6節 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

云ひけるは、主よ、我が僕は中風に〔罹り〕て家に臥し、痛く苦(くるし)め り。     

7節 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

乃ちイエス彼に云ひ給ふ、われ到りて癒すべし。

8節 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

然るに百人長答へて述べけるは、主よ、我は我が屋根の下に、汝の入り来り給ふに足らず、されど唯一と言を曰(のたま)へ、されば我が僕は医(いや)さるるならん。      

9節 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this [man], Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth [it].

そは我自身の下に兵士をもちながら、我も権の下に在る人なるに、これに往け、と云へば、往き、また別の者に、来れ、〔と云へば〕来り、また我が僕に、これを為せ、〔と云はん〕に、為せばなり。       

10節 When Jesus heard [it], he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

乃ちイエス聞きて驚き給へり。かくて従へる人々に曰へり、誠にわれ汝等に云はん、イスラエルのうちにさへ、かばかり大いなる信仰を見出ださざりき。

11節 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

さればわれ汝等に云はん、多くの者東や西より来り、かくて天国に於てアブラハム、またイサク、またヤコブと共に席に着くならん。

12節 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

されど国の子等は暗に、外に投げ出さるるならん。そこにて嘆くこと、また切歯することあるならん。       

13節 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, [so] be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

かくてイエス百人長に曰へり、往け、且つ汝の信ずる如く汝になれ。乃ちその時に彼の僕は医されたり。

14節 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.

またイエスはペテロの家に到り給ひ、熱病にて臥せる彼の姑を見給へり。

15節 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

乃ちその手に触り給へり。されば熱病彼を離れたり。乃ち彼は起てり、且つ彼等に事へたり。      

16節 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with [his] word, and healed all that were sick:

また夕になりしとき、人々悪鬼に憑かれた者を多く彼に連れ来れり。さらば彼は言にて霊を逐ひ出だし、且つ悩ある者をすべて癒し給へり。

17節 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses.

是れ豫言者イザヤによりて謂はれたることの成就せらるるためなりしなり、云ひけりは、彼は我等の病を受け、またその疾を負ひ給へり。

18節 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.

またイエス己を繞(めぐ)れる多くの群衆を見て、向側に去ることを命じ給へり。      

19節 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

然るに一〔人〕の学者進み来りて彼に云へり、師よ、いづこにても汝の去り給ふ処に、われ汝に従はん。

20節 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head.

乃ちイエス彼に云ひ給ふ、狐には穴あり、また空の鳥は塒(ねぐら)〔あり〕。されど人の子は枕する処なし。

21節 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

また弟子等のうちの他の者いへり、主よ、我に先ず去って、我が父を葬ることを許し給へ。      

22節 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

然るにイエス彼に曰へり、我に従へ、されど死人をして己自らの死人を葬らしめよ。      

23節 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.

かくて彼は船に乗り給ひければ、弟子等これに従へり。

24節 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

然るに見よ、海に大いなる振動発(おこ)れり。されば船は波にて蔽われたり。されど彼は寝(い)ねておはせり。

25節 And his disciples came to [him], and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

されば弟子等進み来りて彼を起し、云ひけるは、主よ、救ひ給へ我等亡びんとす。      

26節 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

乃ち彼等に云ひ給ふ、信仰小さき者よ、何ぞ臆するや。そのとき、起きて風と海とを叱し給ひければ、大なる凪となれり。

27節 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

されば人々異(あや)しみて云ひけるは、此の〔人〕は如何なる者なるや。風さへ海さへ彼に聞き服(したが)はんとは。

28節 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

かくてゲルゲセネ人の地にまで向側に到り給ひし彼に、悪鬼に憑かれたる二〔人の〕者、墓より出で来りて往き逢へり。猛(たけ)きこと甚(はなは)だし。されば誰もかの道を経て過ぐること能はざりき。       

29節 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

然るに見よ、彼等叫び出でて云ひけるは、イエスよ、神の子よ、我等にまた汝に何ぞや、我等を呵責せんとて、期に先立ちて此処に来り給ふや。

30節 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding. また遥か隔たりて多くの豚の群飼はれてありき。

31節 So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

然るに悪鬼ども彼に乞ふて、云ひけるは、汝もし我等を逐ひ出だし給はば、かの豚の群のうちに去り往くことを許し給へ。

32節 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

かくて彼等はに曰へり、往け。乃ち彼等出で来りて豚の群のうちに去りたれば、見よ、豚の群みな崖を下りて、海に跳び入り、且つ水にて死ねり。

33節 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.

然るに飼う者等逃げ、且つ市に去り往き、すべての事と悪鬼に憑かれし者の事とを報じたり。      

34節 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought [him] that he would depart out of their coasts.

されば見よ、市挙りてイエスに往き逢はんとて来れり。かくて彼を見て、彼等の境より移り給はんことを彼等は乞へり。
