Is Jesus God, or Does Jesus Have A God?
As According to Revelation 1:6
That is the question, but unfortunately, depending on the version of the bible you read the answer will vary, and it might even align itself with the Jehovah Witness bible.
Let us Begin
Before we start this discussion, I need to understand that this is not a debate between the KJV versus the other bibles: this is about the Textus Receptus verses the Vaticanus / Sinaiticus which have undertones of catholic and new age theology.
As we look at Revelation 1:6 below, please keep this in mind:
- If your child was dying of thirst and there was a glass of water on the table with a trace of rat poison in it, would you let your child drink from it? The answer is apparent, you would not, yet we will allow ourselves and families to drink from translations that are known to be corrupted every single day.
Let Us Consider the Verse
- Revelation 1:6 KJV And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
This verse states that Jesus “hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father”.
- The first thing we need to ask ourselves is, who is this verse referring to?
- And the second question we need to ask is who has a father? The answer to both of these questions is Jesus Christ.
Again, unto God who is Jesus Christ, and His Father who is God; God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
This is a proof text that Jesus Christ is God, because it is unto God and His Father, and Jesus and His Father are one.
- John 10:30 KJV I and my Father are one.
Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh.
- John 1:14 KJV And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
It does not get much clearer. Jesus and God are one.
Modern Translation
Now we will read the exact same verse in modern translations to show how they continually attack the deity of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 1:6
NIV
- (NIV) and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
- The NIV states that Jesus and God are no longer one, and that you will serve His God and Father. This implies that Jesus and His Father are not one in the same and that Jesus is not the word of God manifested in the flesh as according to John 1:14.
NKJV
- (NKJV) and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
- Again, as according to the NKJV version, it also claims that Jesus is not God, but rather He has a God and father that you have been made kings and priests unto.
NASB
- (NASB) and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father–to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
- The NASB echoes the same as the others, but it goes a step further by changing “from being kings and priests” to a kingdom where you are priests to His God and Father.
GNB
- (GNB) and made us a kingdom of priests to serve his God and Father. To Jesus Christ be the glory and power forever and ever! Amen.
- The Good News Bible, which is a Catholic Bible, lines up with the NIV.
Lastly, we will look at the Jehovah Witness New World Translation Bible. We will see that all modern translations line up directly with the teachings of this perverse text called the NWT as it is known that is continually throughout its pages attacks the deity of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
NWT
(The New World Translation) and he made us to be a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—yes, to him be the glory and the might forever. Amen.
Conclusion
Reading each of the different modern translations above, we can see that they are all in agreement with the Jehovah Witness Bible – The New World Translation – that purposely attacks the Trinity which is at the core of the Christian belief; the fact that Jesus Christ and God are one; God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- 1 John 5:7-8 KJV For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (8) And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
The only Bible that stands alone in protecting the deity of Jesus Christ and the Godhead is the Authorized King James bible; a bible that is based on the Textus Receptus.
This is an extremely pressing issue for anyone that claims to be a follower of Jesus Christ and the issue can no longer by ignorantly ignore.
Do we as Christians – followers of Jesus Christ – want God’s flock to be well fed, or filled with poison?
God has revealed His truth to us in the Received Text, and we need to decide what we are going to do about it. Are we going to continue to be defiant and ignore the truth that is presented to us in the Textus Receptus?
- Romans 1:18-25 KJV For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (19) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. (20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: (25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Or are we going to stop drinking from the poisoned well, and start drinking from the rivers of living water?
- John 7:37-38 KJV In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. (38) He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
The choice is yours, and it is a matter of life and death.
