Minuscule 482 (in the Gregory-Aland numbering), ε 1017 (in the Soden numbering), is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament, on parchment. Dated by a Colophon to the year 1285 (altered to 985).[1] Scrivener labelled it by number 570.[2]

Description

The codex contains the text of the Gospels on 317 parchment leaves (size ). Written in one column per page, 22-23 lines per page.[3] It contains the Eusebian tables, tables of κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, Ammonian Sections, Eusebian Canons, lectionary markings, (Synaxarion, Menologion added by later hand), and pictures.[3]<ref name = Scrivener>Scrivener, Frederick Henry Ambrose; Edward Miller (1894). . The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type. Aland placed it in Category V.<ref>Aland, Kurt; Barbara Aland; Erroll F. Rhodes (trans.) (1995). . Grand Rapids: William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company. p. 139. ISBN 978-0-8028-4098-1. </ref> Textually it is close to the codex 201.

History

The manuscript was written by monk Theophilus in 1285 CE. It once belonged to Charles Burney, as codices 480, 481, 484, 485, and 184.<ref name = Gregory/> It was purchased to the British Museum in 1818.<ref name = Scrivener/>

The manuscript was examined and collated by Scrivener, who published its text in 1852.<ref name = Gregory/> The manuscript was added to the list of New Testament manuscripts by Scrivener.

It is currently housed at the British Library (Burney 20) in London.<ref name = Aland/>
