Minuscule 416
Minuscule 416 (in the Gregory-Aland numbering), ε 422 (in the Soden numbering), is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament, on parchment. Paleographically it had been assigned to the 14th century.[1]
Description
The codex contains the text of the four Gospels on 153 parchment leaves (19.5 cm by 15 cm) with lacunae (Matthew 1:1-25:36; 26:17-27:17; 27:33-Mark 2:25; John 18:8-21:25). Written in one column per page, in 22 lines per page.[1] Very roughly written.[2] It containstables of κεφαλαια, Ammonian Sections, Eusebian Canons, subscriptions, Synaxarion, Menologion, and pictures;[3] κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, and lectionary equipment were added by a later hand.[2]
Text of John 7:53-8:11 is omitted.[3]
History
Wiedmann and J. G. J. Braun collated portions of the manuscript for Scholz (1794-1852).[2] The manuscript was added to the list of New Testament manuscripts by Scholz.[4]
The manuscript is currently housed at the Biblioteca Marciana (Gr. I. 24) in Venice.[1]
