'''Minuscule 166''' (in the [[Biblical manuscript#Gregory-Aland|Gregory-Aland]] numbering), ε 306 ([[Biblical manuscript#Von Soden|Soden]]), is a [[Greek language|Greek]] [[Lower case|minuscule]] [[manuscript]] of the [[New Testament]], on parchment. [[Paleography|Paleographically]] it had been assigned to the 11th or 12th centuries.<sup>[1]</sup> == Description == The codex contains only the text [[Gospel of Luke]] 9:33-24:24 and [[Gospel of John]] 1:23-21:25 on 75 thick parchment leaves (size 21.2 cm by 16.5 cm).<sup>[1]</sup> Written in one column per page, in 27 lines per page (size of text 14.1 cm by 10.5 cm), in black ink, capital letters in red.<sup>[2]</sup> It contains the κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, Ammonian Sections, and [[Eusebian Canons]].<sup>[3]</sup> == Text == The pericope [[Jesus and the woman taken in adultery|Pericope Adulterae]] (John 7:53-8:11) is marked by [[obelus]].<sup>[2]</sup> == History == The subscription states that the manuscript was written by Leo, a priest and caligrapher, in October 1193.<sup>[3]</sup> It was examined by [[Andrew Birch|Birch]] and [[Johann Martin Augustin Scholz|Scholz]] (1794-1852).
