Minuscule 402

Minuscule 402 (in the Gregory-Aland numbering), ε 428 (in the Soden numbering), is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament, on parchment. Paleographically it had been assigned to the 14th century.[1]

Description

The codex contains a complete text of the four Gospels on 253 parchment leaves (15.7 cm by 11.4 cm). Written in one column per page, in 24 lines per page.[1] It contains tables of κεφαλαια, lectionary markings, αναγνωσεις, subscriptions, στιχοι, pictures.[2]

Text

The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type. Aland placed it in Category V.[3] It belongs to the textual family Kr.[4]

History

The manuscript was added to the list of New Testament manuscripts by Scholz (1794-1852).[5]

The manuscript is currently housed at the Biblioteca Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele III (Ms. II. A. 5) in Naples.[1]
