he Fall of Babylon the Great
-
2  And he shouted mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become the dwelling place for demons, and the prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hateful bird!
+
-
3  Because all the nations have drunk of the grape juice of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”
+
-
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, that you do not be partakers of her sins, and that you do not receive of her plagues.
+
-
5 Because her sins have reached to heaven and God has remembered her iniquities.
+
-
6 Repay her just as she paid you, and pay back to her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix to her double.
+
-
7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived lavishly, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; because she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will see no sorrow.’
+
-
8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day, death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, because mighty is the Lord God who judges her.
+
-
9  “And the kings of the earth who have committed fornication and lived lavishly with her will weep for her, and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning,
+
-
10  standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! Because in one hour your judgment has come.’
+
-
11 And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their merchandise anymore:
+
-
  12 the merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, and every kind of citron wood, and every kind of object of ivory, and every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;
+
-
13 and cinnamon and incense, and fragrant oil and frankincense, grape juice and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, slaves and souls of men.
+
-
14 And the fruits that your soul lusted after have departed from you, and all things which were dainty and splendid have departed from you, and you will not find them anymore.
+
-
15 The merchants of these things who became rich by her, will stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
+
-
16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!
+
-
17 Because in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ And every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance
+
-
18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What city is like this great city!’
+
-
19  And threw dust on their heads and shouted out, weeping and wailing, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! Because in one hour she is made desolate.
+
-
20  Rejoice over her, you heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, because God has avenged you on her!”
+
-
21  Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a large millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence will that great city Babylon be thrown down, and will not be found anymore.
+
-
22  And the sound of harpists, musicians,  flutists,  and  trumpeters will not be heard in you anymore. And no craftsman of any craft he is, will be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone will not be heard in you anymore.
+
-
23  And the light of a lamp will not
+
-
shine in you anymore, and the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard in you anymore. Because, your merchants were the great men of the earth, because by your sorceries all the nations were deceived.
+
-
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and all who were slain on the earth. “

18 After athese things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, band the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 And he cried 1mightily with a loud voice, saying, c“Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and dhas become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and ea cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations fhave drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, gand the merchants of the earth have become rich through the 2abundance of her luxury.
-
1  And after these things I heard a loud voice of many people in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!
+
-
2  Because, His judgments are true and righteous, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and has avenged the blood of His servants by her hand.’’
+
-
And again they said, “Alleluia! And her smoke rose up forever and ever!”
+
-
4 And the twenty four elders and the four creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!”
+
-
5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants, and those who reverence Him, both small and great!”
+
-
6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a large multitude, as the voice of many waters and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! Because the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
+
-
7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to Him, because the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”
+
-
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, because the fine linen is the righteous ness of the saints.
+
-
9  Then he said to me, “Write ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’“ And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”
+
-
10  And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! Because the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
+
-
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
+
-
12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. And He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
+
-
13 And He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
+
-
14 And the armies which were in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
+
-
15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations. And He will rule them with a rod of iron. And He treads the grape juice press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
+
-
16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
+
-
17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he shouted with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather yourselves together to the supper of the great God,
+
-
18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses, and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, both small and great.”
+
-
19  And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
+
-
20  Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked miracles before him, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
+
-
21  And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.

4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, h“Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 iFor her sins 3have reached to heaven, and jGod has remembered her iniquities. 6 kRender to her just as she rendered 4to you, and repay her double according to her works; lin the cup which she has mixed, mmix double for her. 7 nIn the measure that she glorified herself and lived 5luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as oqueen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.8 Therefore her plagues will come pin one day—death and mourning and famine. And qshe will be utterly burned with fire, rfor strong is the Lord God who 6judges her.
-
1  Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a large chain in his hand.
+
-
2  And he laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;
+
-
3  and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years were finished. But after that he must be released for a little season.
+
-
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the word of God, those who had not worshiped the beast, or his image, neither had received his mark on their foreheads or in their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
+
-
5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
+
-
6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Upon such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with Him a thousand years.
+
-
7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison
+
-
8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea.
+
-
9  And they went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.
+
-
10  And the devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
+
-
11 Then I saw a large white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.
+
-
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and the books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works by those things that were written in the books.
+
-
13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and death and hell delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, every one according to their works.
+
-
14 Then death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
+
-
15 And whoever was not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

The World Mourns Babylon’s Fall
-
1  Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, because the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
+
-
2  And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
+
-
3  And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
+
-
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, neither will there be any more pain, because the former things have passed away.”
+
-
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, because these words are true and faithful.”
+
-
6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
+
-
7 He who overcomes will inherit all things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.
+
-
8 But the fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, fornicators, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
+
-
9  Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come here, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”
+
-
10  And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
+
-
11 having the glory of God. And her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.
+
-
12 And having a large and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
+
-
13 three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.
+
-
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
+
-
15 And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.
+
-
16 And the city layout is square; and its length is as large as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand stadiums. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.
+
-
17 And he measured its wall: one hundred and forty four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
+
-
18 And the material of the wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.
+
-
19  And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
+
-
20  the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
+
-
21  And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: each separate gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, just like transparent glass.
+
-
22  And I saw no temple in it, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
+
-
23  The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, because the glory of God lit it up. The Lamb is its light.
+
-
24 And the nations of those who are saved will walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.
+
-
25 And its gates will not be shut at all by day, because there will be no night there.
+
-
26 And they will bring the glory and
+
-
honor of the nations into it.
+
-
27 But there will by no means enter into it anything that defiles, nor anything that causes an abomination or makes a lie, except those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

-
1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
+

-
2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve types of fruit, and yielded her fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
+
11 “And xthe merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12 ymerchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and zsouls of men. 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have 7gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, athat great city bthat was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 cFor in one hour such great riches 8came to nothing.’ dEvery shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18 eand cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, f‘What is like this great city?’
-
3 And there will be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His servants will serve Him.
+

-
4 And they will see His face, and His name will be in their foreheads.
+
19 g“They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! hFor in one hour she 9is made desolate.’
-
5 And there will be no night there: And they need no lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God gives them light. And they will reign forever and ever.
+

-
6 And he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show to His servants the things which must suddenly take place.
+
20 i“Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you 1holy apostles and prophets, for jGod has avenged you on her!”
-
7 “Behold, I come suddenly! Blessed is he who keeps the sayings of the prophecy of this book.”
+

-
8 And I, John saw these things and heard them. And when I had heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.
+
Finality of Babylon’s Fall
-
9 Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that, because, I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the sayings of this book. Worship God.”
+

-
10 And he said to me, “Do not seal the sayings of the prophecy of this book, as the time is at hand.
+
21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, k“Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and lshall not be found anymore. 22 mThe sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. 23 nThe light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, oand the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For pyour merchants were the great men of the earth, qfor by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. 24 And rin her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who swere slain on the earth.”
-
11He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; and he who is holy, let him be holy still.”
+

-
12 “And behold, I am coming suddenly; and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according as his work shall be.
+
Heaven Exults Over Babylon
-
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”
+

-
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
+
19 After these things aI 1heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! bSalvation and glory and honor and power belong to 2the Lord our God! 2 For ctrue and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He dhas avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 3 Again they said, “Alleluia! eHer smoke rises up forever and ever!” 4 And fthe twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, g“Amen! Alleluia!” 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, h“Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, iboth 3small and great!”
-
15 Because outside are dogs and sorcerers and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
+

-
16 “I Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the Bright and Morning Star.”
+
6 jAnd I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For kthe 4Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for lthe marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And mto her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, nfor the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
-
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. And whoever wills, let him take the water of life freely.
+

-
  18 Because, I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are writ ten in this book;
+
9 Then he said to me, “Write: o‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, p“These are the true sayings of God.” 10 And qI fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, r“See that you do not do that! I am your sfellow servant, and of your brethren twho have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the utestimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
-
19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
+

-
20 He who testifies these things says, “Surely I am coming suddenly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
+

9 Then one of rthe seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came 6to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you sthe 7bride, the Lamb’s wife.” 10 And he carried me away tin the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me uthe 8great city, the 9holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 vhaving the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. 12 Also she had a great and high wall with wtwelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 xthree gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.

14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and yon them were the 1names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he who talked with me zhad a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall. 16 The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand 2furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal. 17 Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 18 The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 19 aThe foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were twelve bpearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. cAnd the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

he Fall of Babylon the Great

18 After athese things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, band the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 And he cried 1mightily with a loud voice, saying, c“Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and dhas become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and ea cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations fhave drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, gand the merchants of the earth have become rich through the 2abundance of her luxury.”

7 nIn the measure that she glorified herself and lived 5luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as oqueen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ 8 Therefore her plagues will come pin one day—death and mourning and famine. And qshe will be utterly burned with fire, rfor strong is the Lord God who 6judges her.

The World Mourns Babylon’s Fall

9 s“The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her twill weep and lament for her, uwhen they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, v‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! wFor in one hour your judgment has come.’

19 g“They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! hFor in one hour she 9is made desolate.’

20 i“Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you 1holy apostles and prophets, for jGod has avenged you on her!”

Finality of Babylon’s Fall

Heaven Exults Over Babylon

Christ on a White Horse

11 vNow I saw heaven opened, and behold, wa white horse. And He who sat on him was called xFaithful and True, and yin righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 zHis eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. aHe 5had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 bHe was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called cThe Word of God. 14 dAnd the armies in heaven, eclothed in 6fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now fout of His mouth goes a 7sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And gHe Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. hHe Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And iHe has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

jKING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

The Beast and His Armies Defeated

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, k“Come and gather together for the 8supper of the great God, 18 lthat you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, 9free and slave, both small and great.”

19 mAnd I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 nThen the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and othose who worshiped his image. pThese two were cast alive into the lake of fire qburning with brimstone. 21 And the rest rwere killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. sAnd all the birds twere filled with their flesh.

Satan Bound 1000 Years

20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, ahaving the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of bthe dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and cset a seal on him, dso that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

The Saints Reign with Christ 1000 Years

4 And I saw ethrones, and they sat on them, and fjudgment was committed to them. Then I saw gthe souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, hwho had not worshiped the beast ior his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they jlived and kreigned with Christ for 1a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such lthe second death has no power, but they shall be mpriests of God and of Christ, nand shall reign with Him a thousand years.

Satanic Rebellion Crushed

7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out oto deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, pGog and Magog, qto gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 rThey went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone swhere 2the beast and the false prophet are. And they twill be tormented day and night forever and ever.

The Great White Throne Judgment

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face uthe earth and the heaven fled away. vAnd there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, wsmall and great, standing before 3God, xand books were opened. And another ybook was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged zaccording to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, aand Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. bAnd they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then cDeath and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. dThis is the second 4death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life ewas cast into the lake of fire.

All Things Made New

21 Now aI saw a new heaven and a new earth, bfor the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, 1John, saw cthe holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared das a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, ethe tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 fAnd God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; gthere shall be no more death, hnor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

5 Then iHe who sat on the throne said, j“Behold, I make all things new.” And He said 2to me, “Write, for kthese words are true and faithful.”

6 And He said to me, l“It 3is done! mI am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. nI will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes 4shall inherit all things, and oI will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 pBut the cowardly, 5unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in qthe lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

The New Jerusalem

The Glory of the New Jerusalem

22 dBut I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 eThe city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine 3in it, for the 4glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 24 fAnd the nations 5of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor 6into it. 25 gIts gates shall not be shut at all by day h(there shall be no night there). 26 iAnd they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into 7it. 27 But jthere shall by no means enter it anything 8that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s kBook of Life.

The River of Life

22 And he showed me aa 1pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 bIn the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was cthe tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were dfor the healing of the nations. 3 And ethere shall be no more curse, fbut the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His gservants shall serve Him. 4 hThey shall see His face, and iHis name shall be on their foreheads. 5 jThere shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor klight of the sun, for lthe Lord God gives them light. mAnd they shall reign forever and ever.

The Time is Near

6 Then he said to me, n“These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the 2holy prophets osent His angel to show His servants the things which must pshortly take place.

7 q“Behold, I am coming quickly! rBlessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

17 And the Spirit and hthe bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” iAnd let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
