  1 And He entered into the syna-gogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand.
2 And immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no room to receive them, no, not even around the door. And He preached the word to them.
  2 So they watched Him, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath day, so that they might accuse Him.
3 And they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.
  3 And He said to the man who had the withered hand, “Stand in the midst.”
4 And when they could not come near to Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. And when they had broken it up, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
  4 Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath days to do good or to do evil, to save life, or to kill?” But they kept silent.

7 "Why does this man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
  6 Then the Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.
8 And immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, He said to them, "Why do you reason these things in your hearts?
  7 But Jesus withdrew Himself with His disciples to the sea. And a large crowd from Galilee and from Judea followed Him,

10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"— He said to the paralytic—
  9 So He told His disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for Him because of the crowd, lest they should swarm Him,
11 "I say to you, arise, and take up your bed, and go your way to your house."
  10 because, He had healed many, so that as many as had afflictions swarmed about Him to touch Him.
12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this."
  11 And unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him and shouted out, saying, “You are the Son of God.”
13 And He went out again by the seaside. And all the multitude came to Him, and He taught them.
  12 But He warned them strictly that they should not make Him known.
14 And as He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax booth and said to him, "Follow Me." And he arose and followed Him.
  13 And He went up on a mountain and called to Him those whom He wanted. And they came to Him.
15 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at the table in his house, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples, for there were many, and they followed Him.
  14 Then He ordained twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach,
16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, "How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?"

17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need of the physician, but those who are sick. I came to call not the righteous but sinners to repentance."
  16 And Simon  He surnamed  Peter;
18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees were fasting. And they came and said to Him, "Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?"
  17 James  the  son  of  Zebedee,   and John the brother of James, to whom He surnamed Boanerges, which is, “The Sons of Thunder”;
19 And Jesus said to them, "Can the children of the bridechamber fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
  18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananite;

  19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. And they went into a house.
21 "Also, no man sews a piece of new cloth on an old garment. Otherwise the new piece that filled it up takes away from the old, and the tear is made worse.
  20 And the crowd came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
22 And no man puts new wine into old bottles. Otherwise the new wine bursts the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred. But new wine must be put into new bottles."
  21 But when His friends heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, because they said, “He is out of His mind.”
23 And it came to pass that He went through the grainfields on the Sabbath day, and as they went, His disciples began to pluck the heads of grain.
  22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”
24 And the Pharisees said to Him, "Behold, why do they do what is not lawful on the Sabbath day?"
  23 So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan?
25 And He said to them, "Have you never read what David did, when he had need and was hungry, he and those who were with him,
  24 And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
26 how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest and ate the showbread, which is not lawful for anyone to eat but the priests, and also gave it to those who were with him?"
  25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
27 And He said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
  26 And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.
28 Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord also of the Sabbath."

  28 “Truly, I  say  to  you,  all  sins  will be  forgiven  the sons  of  men, and whatever  blasphemies  they  may speak;
  29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has for-giveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation,”
  30 because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
  31 Then His brethren and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him.
  32 And the crowd sat around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brethren are out-side seeking You.”
  33 But He replied to them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brethren?”
  34 And He looked around at those who sat about Him, and said, “Behold My mother and My brethren!
  35 Because, whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”
