1 “Judge not, that you be not judged.
1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham.
2 Because, with the judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
2 Abraham begot Isaac, and Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brethren.
3 And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank that is in your own eye?
3 And Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, and Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram.
4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and behold, a plank is in your own eye?
4 And Ram begot Amminadab, and Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon.
5 You hypocrite! First take out the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck from your brother’s eye.
5 And Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, and Obed begot Jesse,
6 “Do not give that which is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and attack you.
6 and Jesse begot David the king, and David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
7 And Solomon begot Rehoboam, and Rehoboam begot Abijah, and Abijah begot Asa.
8 Because, everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him that knocks it will be opened.
8 And Asa begot Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot Uzziah.
9 Or what man is there among you, who if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
9 And Uzziah begot Jotham, and Jotham begot Ahaz, and Ahaz begot Hezekiah.
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
10 And Hezekiah begot Manasseh, and Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot Josiah.
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him?
11 And Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon.
12 Therefore, everything you would like men to do to you, so likewise you do to them, because this is the Law and the Prophets.
12 And  after  they  were  brought  to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel.
13 “Enter in through the narrow gate; because, the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in through it.
13 And Zerubbabel begot Abiud, and Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor.
14 Because, the gate is narrow and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
14 And Azor begot Zadoc, and Zadoc begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud.
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
15 And Eliud begot Eleazar, and Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob.
16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the carrying away into Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.
18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened this way: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child from the Holy Spirit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privately.
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, fear not to  take  to  yourself  Mary  your

wife, because that which is con-ceived in her is from the Holy Ghost.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonderful works in Your name?'
21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, because He will save His people from their sins.”
23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice iniquity!’
22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock:
23 “Behold, a virgin will be with child, and will bear a Son, and they will call His name Immanuel,” which being interpreted is, “God with us.”
25 and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house; and it did not fall, because it was founded on a rock.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had instructed him, and took to himself his wife,

had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS.
28 And so it happened, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His doctrine,
29 because, He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
