1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven to the earth. And to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
1 And after these things I heard a great voice of many people in heaven, saying, "Alleluia. Salvation and glory and honor and power to the Lord our God.
2 And he opened the bottomless pit, and there arose a smoke out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace. And the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit.
2 For His judgments are true and righteous, for He has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her fornication and has avenged the blood of His servants at her hand."
3 And out of the smoke there came locusts on the earth, and to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
3 And again they said, "Alleluia. And her smoke rises up forever and ever."
4 And it was commanded to them that they should not harm the grass of the earth or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
4 And the twenty-four elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God who sat on the throne, saying, "Amen. Alleluia."
5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months. And their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man.
5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants and you who fear Him, both small and great."
6 And in those days men shall seek death and shall not find it, and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
6 And I heard what seemed like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thundering, saying, "Alleluia. For the Lord God omnipotent reigns.
7 And the shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for battle. And on their heads were what looked like crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.
8 And they had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions.
8 And it was granted to her that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And they had breastplates, like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
9 And he said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb.'" And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."
10 And they had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. And their power was to hurt men five months.
10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, "See that you do not do it. I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue his name is Apollyon.
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
12 One woe is past, and behold, after this there come two more woes.
12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. And He had a name written that no man knew but He Himself.
13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar that is before God,
13 And He was clothed with a garment dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels that are bound in the great river Euphrates."
14 And the armies that were in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
15 And the four angels, who were prepared for an hour and a day and a month and a year, were released to slay the third part of men.
15 And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He shall rule them with a rod of iron. And He treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million. And I heard the number of them.
16 And He has a name written on His garment and on His thigh: King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those who sat on them having breastplates of fire and of jacinth and brimstone. And the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions, and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come and gather yourselves together for the supper of the great God,
18 By these three the third part of men were killed— by the fire and by the smoke and by the brimstone that issued out of their mouths.
18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, both small and great."
19 For their power is in their mouth and in their tails, for their tails were like serpents and had heads, and with them they do harm.
19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
20 And the rest of the men, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons and idols of gold and silver and brass and stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk.
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who worked miracles before him, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast, and those who worshipped his image. These two were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 Nor did they repent of their murders or of their sorceries or of their fornication or of their thefts.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him who sat on the horse, the sword that proceeded out of His mouth. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
