1 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be compared to ten virgins who took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
  2 Mercy to you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
  3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you about the common salvation, it was necessary for me to write to you, and urge you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.
3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,
  4 Because, there are certain men who crept in unnoticed, who long ago were ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, tur-ning the grace of our God into lustfulness and denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
  5 Therefore I want to remind you, although you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
5 While the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
  6 And the angels who did not keep their first domain, but left their own habitat, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day.
6 "And at midnight there was a cry made: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming. Go out to meet him.'
  7 Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in the same manner, giving themselves over to sexual immorality and

8 And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'

9 But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there be not enough for us and you. But go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.'
  9 Yet Michael the archangel, while contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a rail-ing accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.
  10 But these speak evil of those things they know nothing of; but what they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves.
11 "Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.'
  11 Woe to them! Because, they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
12 But he answered and said, 'Truly I say to you, I do not know you.'
  12 These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you, feeding themselves without rev-erence. They are clouds without water, carried about by winds; trees whose fruit withers, without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots;
13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
  13 raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
14 "For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants and delivered to them his goods.
  14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied about these men, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes  with  ten  thousands  of His saints,
15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to every man according to his separate ability, and immediately took his journey.
  15 to execute judgment upon all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly manner, and of all their harsh words which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them another five talents.
  16 These are grumblers, complain-ers, walking according to their own lusts; and their mouth speaks great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.
17 And likewise he who had received two, he gained two others also.
  17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before-hand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:
18 But he who had received one went and dug in the earth and hid his lord's money.
  18 how that they told you there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
  19 These are those who separate sensual, not having the Spirit.
20 "And so he who had received five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained five more talents besides them.'
  20 But you, beloved, building your-selves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
21 His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
  21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
22 He who had received two talents also came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained two other talents besides them.'
  22 And on some have compassion, making a distinction;
23 His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
  23 but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the clothing defiled by the flesh.
24 "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered.
  24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
25 And I was afraid and went and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, there you have what is yours.'
  25 To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
26 "His lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I have not scattered.
27 Therefore you ought to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received my own with interest.
28 Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.'
29 'For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he shall have abundance. But from him who does not have, even what he has shall be taken away.
30 And cast the unprofitable servant into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
31 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He shall sit on the throne of His glory.
32 And all nations shall be gathered before Him, and He shall separate them from one another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
33 And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then the King shall say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'
37 "Then the righteous shall answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You? Or thirsty and give You drink?
38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in? Or naked and clothe You?
39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'
40 And the King shall answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, because you have done it to one of the least of these My brothers, you have done it to Me.'
41 "Then He shall also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 For I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in; naked and you did not clothe me; sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.'
44 Then they also shall answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?'
45 Then He shall answer them, saying, 'Truly I say to you, because you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
