1 “For the kingdom of heaven is likened to a man who is a householder who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.
1 And He entered into the synagogue again, and there was a man there who had a withered hand.
2 Now when he had agreed with the laborers  for  a  denarius  a  day, he sent them into his vineyard.
2 And they watched Him to see whether He would heal him on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse Him.
3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
3 And He said to the man who had the withered hand, "Stand up."
4 and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went their way.
4 And He said to them, "Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath day or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" But they remained silent.
5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
5 And when He had looked all around at them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored whole as the other.
6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’
6 And the Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.
7 They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right that you will receive.’
7 But Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples. And a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea
8 So when evening had come, the master of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.’
8 and from Jerusalem and from Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and those around Tyre and Sidon—a great multitude, when they had heard what great things He did, came to Him.
9 And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, everyone received a denarius each.
9 And He spoke to His disciples, that a small ship should be ready for Him because of the multitude, lest they should throng Him.
10 But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received a denarius each.
10 For He had healed many, so that as many as had plagues pressed on Him to touch Him.
11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the good householder,
11 And when unclean spirits saw Him, they fell down before Him and cried, saying, "You are the Son of God."
12 saying, ‘These last have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have endured the burden and heat of the day.’
12 And He strictly charged them that they should not make Him known.
13 But he responded to one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?
13 And He went up on a mountain and called to Him those whom He wanted, and they came to Him.
14 Take  what  is  yours, and go  yourway. I desire to give to the last, the same as you.
14 And He ordained twelve, that they should be with Him and that He might send them out to preach,
15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I want with my own things? Is your eye corrupt because I am good?’
15 and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons.
16 So the last will be first, and the first last. Because many are called, but few are chosen”
16 And Simon He named Peter,
17 Now Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road, and said to them,
17 and James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (and He named them Boanerges, which is "The Sons of Thunder"),
18 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,
18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,
19 and will deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify Him. And the third day He will rise again.”
19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. And they went into a house.
20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s children came to Him with her sons, worshiping Him, and asking something from Him.
20 And the multitude came together again, so that they could not even eat bread.
21 And He said to her, “What do you desire?” She said to Him, “Permit that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.”
21 And when His friends heard of it, they went out to take hold of Him, for they said, "He is beside Himself."
22 But Jesus answered and said, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink of the cup that I will drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to Him, “We are able.”
22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He has Beelzebub" and "He casts out demons by the prince of the demons."
23 So He said to them, “You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it will be given to those for whom it is prepared by My Father.”
23 And He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: "How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation with the two brethren.
24 And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 But Jesus called them to Himself, and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles dominate over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.
25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 But it will not be so among you; but whoever wants to be great among you, let him be your servant.
26 And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand but has an end.
27 And whoever wants to be first among you, let him be your servant,
27 No man can enter into a strong man's house and plunder his goods unless he will first bind the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
28 Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies with which they shall blaspheme.
29 Now as they departed from Jericho, a large crowd followed Him.
29 But he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness but is in danger of eternal damnation."
30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, shouted out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, You Son of David!”
30 Because they said, "He has an unclean spirit."
31 And the crowd rebuked them, that they should keep silent; but they shouted all the more, saying, “Have mercy on us, O  Lord, You Son of David!”
31 Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside, sent to Him, calling Him.
32 Then Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”
32 And the multitude sat around Him, and they said to Him, "Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking for You."
33 They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.”
33 And He answered them, saying, "Who is My mother, or My brothers?"
34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes. And immediately  their  eyes  received sight, and they followed Him.
34 And He looked around at those who sat around Him and said, "Behold, My mother and My brothers!
35 For whoever does the will of God, the same is My brother and My sister and mother."
