1 "Do not judge, that you not be judged.
1 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be compared to ten virgins who took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged. And with what measure you use, it shall be measured to you again.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye but do not consider the beam that is in your own eye?
3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,
4 Or how will you say to your brother, 'Let me pull the speck out of your eye,' and behold, a beam is in your own eye?
4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 You hypocrite. First cast the beam out of your own eye, and then you shall see clearly to cast the speck out of your brother's eye.
5 While the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
6 "Do not give what is holy to the dogs. Do not cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn back and tear you apart.
6 "And at midnight there was a cry made: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming. Go out to meet him.'
7 "Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you.
7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.
8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.
8 And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'
9 Or what man is there of you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
9 But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there be not enough for us and you. But go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.'
10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him?
11 "Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.'
12 Therefore, in all things, whatever you want men to do to you, do even so to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
12 But he answered and said, 'Truly I say to you, I do not know you.'
13 "Enter in at the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
14 Because the gate is narrow and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it."
14 "For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants and delivered to them his goods.
15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to every man according to his separate ability, and immediately took his journey.
16 You shall know them by their fruit. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them another five talents.
17 Even so, every good tree brings forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.
17 And likewise he who had received two, he gained two others also.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, nor can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
18 But he who had received one went and dug in the earth and hid his lord's money.
19 Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.
20 Therefore by their fruit you shall know them."
20 "And so he who had received five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained five more talents besides them.'
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.
21 His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
22 Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and have cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonderful works in Your name?'
22 He who had received two talents also came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained two other talents besides them.'
23 And then I will profess to them, 'I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who work iniquity.'
23 His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
24 "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine and does them, I will compare him to a wise man who built his house on a rock.
24 "Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you, that you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered.
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it did not fall, for it was founded on a rock.
25 And I was afraid and went and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, there you have what is yours.'
26 "And everyone who hears these sayings of Mine and does not do them shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
26 "His lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I have not scattered.
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it fell. And great was its fall."
27 Therefore you ought to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received my own with interest.
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, the people were astonished at His doctrine,
28 Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.'
29 for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
29 'For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he shall have abundance. But from him who does not have, even what he has shall be taken away.
30 And cast the unprofitable servant into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
31 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He shall sit on the throne of His glory.
32 And all nations shall be gathered before Him, and He shall separate them from one another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
33 And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then the King shall say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'
37 "Then the righteous shall answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You? Or thirsty and give You drink?
38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in? Or naked and clothe You?
39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'
40 And the King shall answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, because you have done it to one of the least of these My brothers, you have done it to Me.'
41 "Then He shall also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 For I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in; naked and you did not clothe me; sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.'
44 Then they also shall answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?'
45 Then He shall answer them, saying, 'Truly I say to you, because you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
