But He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him:
Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.
how he entered into the house of God, and ate the showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?

Or have you not read in the law, that on the Sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?
and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the firstborn of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
But I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple.

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending," says the Lord, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
Now when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue.
I, John, who also am your brother and companion in tribulation and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath days?” That they might accuse Him.
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
And He said to them, “What man would there be among you, who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?
saying, "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last," and, "What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches that are in Asia: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamum, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."
How much better then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath days.”
And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks,
Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other.
and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet, and girded about the chest with a golden girdle.
Then the Pharisees went out and held a council against Him, how they might destroy Him.
His head and His hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were like a flame of fire.
But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew Himself from there. And large crowds followed Him, and He healed them all.
And His feet like fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace, and His voice like the sound of many waters.
And commanded them that they should not make Him known,
And He had in His right hand seven stars, and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying:
And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not fear; I am the first and the last.
“Behold! My Servant, whom I have chosen, My beloved, in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He will show judgment to the Gentiles.
I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of hell and of death."
He will not strive, nor shout, nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
"Write the things that you have seen, and the things that are, and the things that shall be hereafter.
A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench, until He sends forth judgment to victory;
The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in My right hand and the seven golden candlesticks: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven candlesticks that you saw are the seven churches."
And in His name shall the Gentiles trust.”
Then one was brought to Him who was possessed with a demon, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute both spoke and saw.
And all the people were amazed and said, “Is not this the Son of David?”
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This one does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”
But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.
Or else how can one enter a strong man’s house, and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he shall plunder his house.
He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that does not gather with Me scatters abroad.
“Therefore I say to you, every type of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven men.
And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in the age to come.
“Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad, and its fruit bad: because the tree is known by its fruit.
O generation of vipers, how can you being evil, speak good things? Since out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks!
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
But I say to you that every idle word that men will speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
Because, by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Then some of the scribes and Pharisees responded, saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”
But He replied and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
Because, as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The men of Nineveh will rise in judgment with this generation and will condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, a greater than Jonah is here.
The queen of the south will rise up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, because, she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.
Then he says, ‘I shall return to my house from which I came out.And when he has come, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
Then he goes, and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so will it be to this wicked generation.”
While He was still talking to the people, behold, His mother and His brethren stood outside, wanting to speak with Him.
Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brethren are standing outside, wanting to speak with You.
But He replied and said to him who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brethren?
And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples, and said, “Behold, My mother and My brethren!
Because, whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, that one is My brother and sister and mother.
