But He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him:
Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.
how he entered into the house of God and ate the showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, or for those who were with him, but only for the priests?
John, to the seven churches that are in Asia: grace and peace be to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits that are before His throne,
Or have you not read in the Law how on the Sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are blameless?
and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the firstborn of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
But I say to you that in this place is One greater than the temple.

For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath day."
"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending," says the Lord, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
And when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue.
I, John, who also am your brother and companion in tribulation and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
And behold, there was a man who had his hand withered. And they asked Him, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?"—that they might accuse Him.
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
And He said to them, "What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, will he not take hold of it and lift it out?
saying, "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last," and, "What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches that are in Asia: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamum, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."
How much better, then, is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day."
And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks,
Then He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and it was restored whole, like the other.
and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet, and girded about the chest with a golden girdle.
Then the Pharisees went out and held a council against Him, how they might destroy Him.
His head and His hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were like a flame of fire.
But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew Himself from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all
And His feet like fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace, and His voice like the sound of many waters.
and charged them, that they should not make Him known,
And He had in His right hand seven stars, and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.
that it might be fulfilled what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not fear; I am the first and the last.
Behold, My Servant whom I have chosen, My beloved in whom My soul is well pleased. I will put My Spirit on Him, and He shall show judgment to the Gentiles.
I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of hell and of death."
He shall not contend or cry, nor shall any man hear His voice in the streets.
"Write the things that you have seen, and the things that are, and the things that shall be hereafter.
A bruised reed He shall not break, and smoking flax He shall not quench, until He sends forth judgment to victory.
The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in My right hand and the seven golden candlesticks: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven candlesticks that you saw are the seven churches."
And in His name the Gentiles shall trust.
Then one was brought to Him who was possessed with a demon, blind, and mute. And He healed him, to such a degree that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.
And all the people were amazed and said, "Isn't this the Son of David?"
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This fellow does not cast out demons but by Beelzebub, the prince of the demons."
And Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.
And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then shall his kingdom stand?
And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges.
But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.
Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house and plunder his goods, except he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters."
"Therefore I say to you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven men.
And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this world or in the world to come.
"Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt. For the tree is known by its fruit.
O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For the mouth speaks out of the abundance of the heart.
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
But I say to you that every idle word that men speak, they shall give account of it on the day of judgment.
For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned."
Then some of the scribes and the Pharisees answered, saying, "Master, we want to see a sign from You."
But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it but the sign of the prophet Jonah.
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly, so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation and shall condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah. And behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
The queen of the South shall rise up in the judgment with this generation and shall condemn it, for she came from the farthest parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And behold, something greater than Solomon is here.
"When the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.
Then he says, 'I will return into my house from where I came out.' And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. And the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it also be with this wicked generation."
While He was still talking to the people, behold, His mother and His brothers stood outside, desiring to speak with Him.
Then one said to Him, "Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to speak with You."
But He answered and said to him who told Him, "Who is My mother? And who are My brothers?"
And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, "Behold, My mother and My brothers!
For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, the same is My brother and sister and mother."
