9 I, John, who also am your brother and companion in tribulation and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
6 and saying, "Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, grievously tormented."
11 saying, "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last," and, "What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches that are in Asia: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamum, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

12 And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks,
7 And Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."
13 and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet, and girded about the chest with a golden girdle.

14 His head and His hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were like a flame of fire.
8 The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak the word, and my servant shall be healed.
15 And His feet like fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace, and His voice like the sound of many waters.

16 And He had in His right hand seven stars, and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this man, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not fear; I am the first and the last.

18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of hell and of death."
10 When Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who followed, "Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.
19 "Write the things that you have seen, and the things that are, and the things that shall be hereafter.

20 The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in My right hand and the seven golden candlesticks: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven candlesticks that you saw are the seven churches."
11 And I say to you that many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

13 And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way, and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed in the very same hour.

14 And when Jesus had come into Peter's house, He saw his wife's mother lying and sick from a fever.

15 And He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and ministered to them.

16 When the evening had come, they brought to Him many who were possessed with demons. And He cast out the spirits with His word and healed all who were sick,

17 that what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses."

18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around Him, He gave a commandment to depart to the other side.

19 And a certain scribe came and said to Him, "Master, I will follow You wherever You go."

20 And Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

21 And another of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, first allow me to go and bury my father."

22 But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and let the dead bury their dead."

23 And when He had entered into a ship, His disciples followed Him.

24 And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, to such an extent that the ship was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.

25 And His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing."

26 And He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

27 But the men marveled, saying, "What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him!"

28 And when He had come to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two men possessed with demons met Him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

29 And behold, they cried out, saying, "What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?"

30 And there was a herd of many swine feeding a good way off from them.

31 So the demons begged Him, saying, "If You cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of swine."

32 And He said to them, "Go." And when they had come out, they went into the herd of swine. And behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea and perished in the waters.

33 And those who kept them fled, and went their way into the city, and told everything, and what had happened to those possessed by the demons.

34 And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw Him, they begged Him that He would depart out of their territory.
