永井訳　また彼は復び海の辺にて教へ始め給へり、かきて大なる群集その許に押し
集まれり、されば彼は船に乗りて海に坐し給ひ、また群集は海に対(むか)ひ
て陸にありき。

新改訳　イエスはまた湖のほとりで教え始められた。おびただしい数の群集がみもと
に集まった。それでイエスは湖の上の舟に乗り、そこに腰をおろされ、群衆は
みな岸べの陸地にいた。

And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.

永井訳　乃ち彼は多くの喩をもて彼等を教へ給へり、また彼はその教のうちに彼等に云ひ給へり。

新改訳　イエスはたとえによって多くのことを教えられた。その教えの中でこう言われた。

And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,

永井訳　聞け。見よ、種播く者、播かんとで出で来れり。

新改訳　よく聞きなさい。種を蒔く人が種蒔きに出かけた。

Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

永井訳　かくて彼は播きたるときかきありき、或るものは道のほとりに落ちたり、されば空の鳥来れり、かくてそれを食い尽せり。

新改訳　蒔いているとき、種が道ばたに落ちた。すると、鳥が来て食べてしまった。

And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

永井訳　また別のものは土多からぬ岩地に落ちたり、されば直に生え出でたれど、土深からざるゆゑに、

新改訳　また、別の種が岩地に落ちた。土が深くなかったので、すぐに芽を出した。

And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

永井訳　陽の昇りければ焦げ、且つ根なきゆゑに枯れたり。

新改訳　しかし日が上ると、焼けて、根がないために枯れてしまった。

But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

永井訳　また別のものは茨のうちに落ちたり。されば茨育ちて、それを塞ぎたれば、実与へざりき。

新改訳　また、別の種がいばらの中に落ちた。ところが、いばらが伸びて、それをふさいでしまったので、実を結ばなかった。

And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

永井訳　また別のものは良き地に落ちたり、されば育ち、且つ殖(ふ)えて、実を与へたり、即ち一は三十、また一は六十、また一は百を着けたり。

新改訳　また、別の種が良い地に落ちた。すると芽ばえ、育って、実を結び、三十倍、六十倍、百倍になった。」

And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

永井訳　復彼等に云い給へり、聞くべく耳をもつ者は聞くべし。

新改訳　そしてイエスは言われた。「聞く耳のある者は聞きなさい。」

And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

永井訳　かくて彼の唯(ひとり)になり給ひしとき、その傍に〔在りし〕人々、十二と同(とも)に彼に喩を問へり。

新改訳　さて、イエスだけになったとき、いつもつき従っている人たちが、十二弟子とともに、これらのたとえのことを尋ねた。　　　　　

And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

永井訳　乃ち彼等に云ひ給へり、汝等には神の国の奥義を知ることを与へられたり、
されど外なる彼等には、すべての事を喩にてさらる。

新改訳　そこで、イエスは言われた。「あなたがたには、神の国の奥義が知らされて
いるが、ほかの人たちには、すべてがたとえで言われるのです。

And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

永井訳　是れ視ることは彼等視ん、されど認めず、また聞くことは彼等聞かん、されど
悟らず、彼等は翻へされ、且つその罪を彼等に赦さるることなからんためなり。

新改訳　それは、『彼らは確かに見るには見るがわからず、聞くには聞くが悟らず、悔
い改めて赦されることのないため。』です。」

That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

永井訳　また云ひ給ふ、汝等此の喩を知らざるか、されば如何にしてすべての喩を知
るべけんや。

新改訳　そして彼らにこう言われた。「このたとえがわからないのですか。そんなこと
で、いったいどうしてたとえの理解ができましょう。

And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

永井訳　播く者は言を播く。

新改訳　種蒔く人は、もことばを蒔くのです。

The sower soweth the word

永井訳　また此等の者は道のほとり、そこに言の播かれたる人々なり、即ち彼等聞く
とき、直にサタナ来り、且つその心に播かれたる言を取り去る〔なり〕。

新改訳　もことばが道ばたに蒔かれるとは、こういう人たちのことです―みことばを聞
くと、すぐサタンが来て、彼らに蒔かれたもことばを持ち去ってしまうのです。

And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

永井訳　また此等の者は等しく岩地に播かれたる人々なり、彼等は言を聞くとき、直
に喜をもて受く、

新改訳　出王じように、岩地に蒔かれるとは、こういう人たちのことです―みことばを
聞くと、すぐに喜んで受けるが、

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

永井訳　されど己自らに根をもたず、暫時のみ、言のゆゑに艱、或は迫害の発(おこ)
るときは、直に躓かさるるなり。

新改訳　根を張らないで、ただしばらく続けるだけです。それで、みことばのために困
難や迫害が起こると、すぐにつまずいてしまいます。

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

永井訳　また此等の者は茨のうちに播かれたる人々なり、此等の者は言を聞けども、

新改訳　もう一つの、いばらのなかに種を蒔かれるとは、こういう人たちのことです―
みことばを聞いてはいるが、

And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

永井訳　此の世の心遣と、富の惑と、その余、入り来るさまざまの慾とは言を塞ぎて、
稔り良からずなる人々なり。

新改訳　世の心づかいや、富の惑わし、その他いろいろな欲望が入り込んで、みこと
ばをふさぐので、実を結びません。

And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

永井訳　また此等の者は良き地に播かれたる人々なり、彼等は言を聞き、且つ受
け、かくて一は三十、また一は六十、また一は百の実を結ぶところの者なり。

新改訳　良い地に蒔かれるとは、みことばを聞いて受け入れ、三十倍、六十倍、百倍
の実を結ぶ人たちです。」

And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

永井訳　また云ひ給へり、燈火は桝の下、或は床の下に置かるるために来るや、燈
火台の上に置かるるためならずや。

新改訳　また言われた。「あかりを持って来るのは、桝の下や寝台の下に置くためで
しょうか。燭台の上に置くためではありませんか。

And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

永井訳　そは顕はさるるためならで、隠るるものはなく、また秘め事の生ずるは、光に
来るために外ならざえばなり。

新改訳　隠れているのは、必ず現れるためであり、おおい隠されているのは、明らか
にされるためです。

For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

永井訳　もし誰にても聞くべく耳をもたば、聞くべし。

新改訳　聞く耳のある者は聞きなさい。」

If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

永井訳　また彼等に云ひ給へり、汝等聞く事を視よ。汝等の量るところの量にて量らるべく、且つ聞きたる汝等には増し加へらるべし。

新改訳　また彼らに言われた。「聞いていることによく注意しなさい。あなたがたは、人に量ってあげるその量りで、自分にも量り与えられ、さらにその上に増し加えられます。

And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

永井訳　しは誰にても、有つ者は余へらるべく、また有たぬ者は彼より、その有てるも
のをも取られるべければなり。

新改訳　持っている人は、さらに与えられ、持たない人は、持っているものまでも取り
上げられてしまいます。

For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

永井訳　また云ひ給へり、かく神の国は人、地に播くが如きものなり。

新改訳　また言われた。「神の国は、人が地に種を蒔くようなもので、

And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

永井訳　即ち〔人の〕夜は寝(い)ね、昼は起きて、彼の知らざるうちに、種は生えまた
伸ぶ。

新改訳　夜は寝て、朝は起き、そうこうしているうちに、種は芽を出して育ちます。どのようにしてか、人は知りません。

And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

永井訳　そは地はおのづから実を結べばなり、〔即ち〕最初には苗、つぎに穂、つぎには穂のうちに穀を満たさん。

新改訳　地は人手によらず実をならせるもので、始めに苗、次に穂、次に穂の中に実
がはいります。

For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

永井訳　かくて実の熟するときは、直に彼は鎌を使はさん、そは獲り入来りたるが故
なり。

新改訳　実が熟すると、人はすぐにかまを入れます。収穫の時が来たからです。」

But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

永井訳　また云ひ給へり、我等は神の国を何に等しうすべきや。或は如何なる喩にて
これを喩ふべきや。

新改訳　また言われた。「神の国は、どのようなものと言えばよいでしょう。何にたとえたらよいでしょう。

And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

永井訳　芥子粒の如し。此は地に播かるるときは、地に在る万(よろず)の種より小さし。

新改訳　それはからし種のようなものです。地に蒔かれるときには、地に蒔かれる種の中で、一番小さいのですが、

It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

永井訳　されどその播かれたるときは、育ち、且つ萬(よろず)の野菜より大きくなり、
また大なる枝を出さん、されば空の鳥その蔭に宿り得るなり。

新改訳　それが蒔かれると、成長してどんな野菜よりも大きくなり、大きな枝を張り、
その蔭に空の鳥が巣を作るほどになります。」

But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

永井訳　また彼は多くのかくの如き喩にて、彼等の聞き得るに循ひて、言を彼等の話
たり給へり。

新改訳　イエスは、このように多くのたとえで、彼らの聞く力に応じて、みことばを話された。

And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.

永井訳　されど喩を離れては彼等には話たり給はざりき。かくて人を避け、弟子等に
すべての事を釈き給ひき。

新改訳　たちえによらないで話されることななかった。ただ、ご自分の弟子たちにだけ
は、すべてのことを解き明かされた。

But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

永井訳　またその日の夕になりしとき、彼は彼等に云ひ給ふ、いざ向側に越え往か
ん。

新改訳　さて、その日のこと、夕方になって、イエスは弟子たちに、「さあ、向こう岸へ渡ろう。」と言われた。

And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

永井訳　乃ち彼等は群集を差しおきて、船におわす彼をそのままに伴へり。また別の
小舟も共に在りき。

新改訳　そこで弟子たちは、群集をあとに残し、舟に乗っておられるままで、イエスを
お連れした。他の舟のイエスについて行った。

And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

永井訳　かくて大なる暴風発(おこ)りたれば、波は船に打ち入りて既に満てる程なり
き。

新改訳　すると、激しい突風が起こり、舟は波をかぶって、水でいっぱいになった。

And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

永井訳　然るに彼は艫にて、枕して寝(い)ねておわせり。されば彼等起して云ふ。師
よ、我等の亡ぶることは汝に心懸りし給はざるや。

新改訳　ところがイエスだけは、とものほうで、枕して眠っておられた。弟子たちはイエスを起して言った。「先生。私たちがおぼれて死にそうでも、何とも思われな
いのですか。」

And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

永井訳　乃ち彼起きて風を叱し、且つ海に対(むか)ひて曰へり、黙せよ、静まれ。乃ち風落ちて代なる凪となれり。

新改訳　イエスは起き上がって、風をしかりつけ、湖に「黙れ、静まれ。」と言われた。すると風はやみ、大なぎになった。

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

永井訳　かくて彼等に曰へり、何ぞかく臆するや。如何にして信仰なきや。

新改訳　イエスは彼らに言われた。「どうしてそんなにこわがるのです。信仰がないのは、どうしたことです。」

And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

永井訳　されば彼等は大に懼(おそ)れて怖れ、且つ互に云へり、されば此〔の人〕は誰におはすぞや、風と海さへ彼に聞き服(したが)はんとは。

新改訳　彼らは大きな恐怖に包まれて、互いに言った。「風や湖までが言うことをきくとは、いったいこの方はどういう方なのだる。」

And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
