１The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
またパリサイ並にサドカイの人々進み来りて〔彼を〕試みんとて、天につきての徴を彼等に見（あら）はさんことを請へり。
２He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, [It will be] fair weather: for the sky is red
然るに彼は答えて彼等に曰へり。夕になりしとき、汝等は云ふ、天気好し、そは天赤ければなり。
3 And in the morning, [It will be] foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O [ye] hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not [discern] the signs of the times?
また夜明けには〔云ふ〕、今日は天気わろし、そは天鬱（ふさ）ぎて赤ければなり。偽善者よ、汝等は如何にも天の顔を見分くることを知れども、期の徴を〔見分くること〕能はざるか。

A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
悪しき且つ姦（よこしま）なる代は徴を索む。されど豫言者ヨナの徴にあらざれば、これに与えられじ。乃ち彼等を措（お）きて去り給へり。
５ And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
また弟子らの向側に到りしとき、彼等はパンを携ふることを忘れたり。
６ Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
かくてイエス彼等に曰へり、パリサイ並にサドカイの人々のパン種を覩（み）よ、且つ〔それに〕心せよ。
７ And they reasoned among themselves, saying, [It is] because we have taken no bread.
乃ち彼等は己自らのうちに勘考して、云ひけるは、是れ我等のパンを携へざるが故なり。
８ [Which] when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
さればイエス知りて彼等に曰へり、信仰小さき者よ、何故に汝等はパンを携へざることを己自らのうちに勘考するや。
９ Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
汝等は未（いま）だ五千〔人〕に五つのパンと、手籃（てかご）幾つに汝等は拾ひしかとを解せず、また想ひ出ださざるや。
１０ Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
また四千〔人〕に七つのパンと、幾籃汝等は拾ひしかとをも〔想ひ出ださざる〕か。
１１ How is it that ye do not understand that I spake [it] not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
パリサイ並にサドカイの人々のパン種に心せよと、我の汝等にいひしは、パンに就きてにあらざることを、如何にして解せざるや。
１２Then understood they how that he bade [them] not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
そのとき彼等はパンのパン種に心せよと曰ひしにあらず、されどパリサイ並にサドカイの人々の教えに就きてのことなるを悟れり。
１３ When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
またイエスのピリポのカイザリヤ地方に到り給ひしとき、弟子等に問ふて云ひ給ひかるは、人々は人の子を誰なりと云ふや。
１４ And they said, Some [say that thou art] John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
乃ち彼等にいへり、或る人々はバプテズマのヨハネ、また別の者はエリヤ、また他の者はエレミヤ或は豫言者等のうちの一〔人〕。
１５ He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
彼等に云ひ給ふ、されど汝等は我を誰なりと云ふや。
１６ And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
即ちシモンペテロ答へていへり、汝はキリスト、生ける神の子におはす。
１７ And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
かくてイエス答へて彼に曰へり、シモンバアルヨナよ、汝は福なる者なり。そはこれを汝に黙示し給ひしは肉また血にあらず、天に〔おはす〕我が父なればなり。
１８ And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
されば我も汝に云はん、汝はペテロなりと。乃ち我は此の岩の上に我が集会を建てん、また陰府の門はこれに勝まじ。
１９ And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
またわれ汝に天国の鍵を与へん、されば何にても地にて汝の繋ぐものは、天に於ても繋がれてあるべく、また何にても地にて汝の釈くものは、天に於ても釈かれてあるべし。
２０ Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
そのとき彼は弟子等に、彼のイエス即ちキリストにおはすことを誰にもいふこと勿れ、と言ひ含め給ひたり。
２１ From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
そのときよりイエス、彼の必ずエロソルマに去り往き、また長老等及び祭司長等並に学者等より、多くの苦を受け、また殺され、また三日目に起され給はざるべからざることを示し始め給へり。
２２ Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
さればペテロ進みて彼を執（とら）へ叱して云ひ始めたり。主よ、汝に恵あれ、此の〔こと〕必ず汝にあるまじ。
２３ But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
然るに彼はふり返りてペテロに曰へり、我が後ろに往け。サタナ。汝は我の躓なり。そは汝は神のことを念はず、されど人のことを〔念ふ〕が故なり。

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
そのときイエス弟子等に曰へり、もし誰ぞ我に跟（つ）き来たらんと欲せば己自らを否み且つ己が十字架を負ひ、かくて我に従ふべし。
２５ For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
そは誰にてもその魂を救はんと欲する者は、これを亡ふべく、また誰にても我がためにその魂を亡ふ者は、これを見出すべければなり。

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
人もし全世界を儲けてその魂を損せば、何の益あらんや。或ひは人何を与へてその魂に換ふべけんや。
２７ For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
そは人の子は将にその父の栄光のうちに、その使等と共に来らんとすればなり。かくてそのとき彼はその行為に循（したが）ひて、おのおのに酬（むく）ゆべし。

Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
誠にわれ汝等に云はん、此処に立つ者のうちに、彼の国に来る人の子を見るまで、必ず死を味はざる人々あり。
