'''Minuscule 232''' (in the [[Biblical manuscript#Gregory-Aland|Gregory-Aland]] numbering), ε 455 ([[Biblical manuscript#Von Soden|Soden]]), is a [[Greek language|Greek]] [[Lower case|minuscule]] [[manuscript]] of the [[New Testament]], on parchment. Dated by a [[Colophon (publishing)|colophon]] to the year 1302.[1] Scrivener deciphered it as the year 1292.[2]

== Description ==

The codex contains a complete text of the four [[Gospel]]s, on 289 parchment leaves (size 22 cm by 17.5 cm).[1] Written in one column per page, 20-22 lines per page.[1] It contains τιτλοι and double [[Synaxarion]].[3]
Titloi in the margin of Matthew and Luke. Elegantly written, but scribe used a poor source.[2]

The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the [[Byzantine text-type]]. [[Kurt Aland|Aland]] placed it in [[Categories of New Testament manuscripts#Category V|Category V]].[4]

== History ==

It was described by D. G. Moldenhauer, who collated it about 1783 for [[Andrew Birch|Birch]].[3] It was also collated by [[Christian Frederick Matthaei|Matthaei]].

It is currently housed at the [[Escurial]] (Cod. Escurialensis, y. III. 7).[1]
