'''Minuscule 251''' (in the [[Biblical manuscript#Gregory-Aland|Gregory-Aland]] numbering), ε 192 ([[Biblical manuscript#Von Soden|Soden]]), is a [[Greek language|Greek]] [[Lower case|minuscule]] [[manuscript]] of the [[New Testament]], on parchment. [[Paleography|Paleographically]] it had been assigned to the 12th century.[1]

== Description ==

The codex contains a complete text of the four [[Gospel]]s on 270 parchment leaves.[1] It contains [[Epistula ad Carpianum]], the Eusebian tables, lists of κεφαλαια, the Ammonian sections, but not the [[Eusebian Canons]] on a margin. It has pictures.[2] The text has some affinities with codex [[Minuscule 59|59]].[2][3]

== Text ==

The Greek text of the codex has some the [[Byzantine text-type|Byzantine]] readings, but it is not pure the Byzantine text. [[Hermann von Soden]] lists as II. [[Kurt Aland|Aland]] did not assign it to a [[Categories of New Testament manuscripts|Category]].

== History ==

The manuscript belonged once to Auxentius. Theophilus Zagoloras sent it to the one of the monastery at [[Mount Athos|Athos]] peninsula in A.D. 1400.[2] It was brought to Moscow, by the monk Arsenius, on the suggestion of the [[Patriarch Nikon]], in the reign of [[Alexis of Russia|Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov]] (1645-1676). The manuscript was collated by [[Christian Frederick Matthaei|C. F. Matthaei]].[3] It was examined by Matthei and Delitzsch.

The manuscript is currently housed at the [[Russian State Library]] (F. 181. 9 (Gr. 9)) at [[Moscow]].[1]
