'''Minuscule 228''' (in the [[Biblical manuscript#Gregory-Aland|Gregory-Aland]] numbering), δ 458 ([[Biblical manuscript#Von Soden|Soden]]), is a [[Greek language|Greek]] [[Lower case|minuscule]] [[manuscript]] of the [[New Testament]], on parchment. [[Palaeography|Palaeographicaly]] it had been assigned to the 14th century.[1] Formerly it was laveled by 109a adn 229p.[2]

== Description ==

The codex contains the text of the [[Acts of the Apostles]] and [[Pauline epistles]] (except [[Epistle to Philemon|Philemon]], [[Epistle to the Hebrews|Hebrews]]), on 126 parchment leaves (size 16.8 cm by 12.5 cm).[1] Written in one column per page, 40-44 lines per page.[1] It has not [[Catholic epistles]].[1]

[[Hermann von Soden]] classified it to the textual family [[Family Kx|Kx]]. [[Kurt Aland|Aland]] did not place it in any of his [[Categories of New Testament manuscripts|Category]].

== History ==

The manuscript belonged to Nicholas Nathanael of Crete, then to Andreas Darmarius, a calligrapher from Epidaurus.[2]

It is currently housed at the [[Escurial]] (Cod. Escurialensis, X. IV. 12).[1]
