Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

そのとき天国は花婿に逢はんとて、燈火を執りて出で来れる十〔人〕の処女等に等しうせらるべし。

And five of them were wise, and five [were] foolish.

然るにそのうち五〔人〕は怜き者にて五〔人〕は愚なる者なりき。

They that [were] foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

愚なる者らは己自らの燈火を執りたれど、己のエライオンをば執らざりき。

But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

されど怜き者等は己の燈火と共に、その器にエライオンを執れり。

While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

然るに花婿遅かりしかば、彼等みな眠気ざして寝（い）ねたり。

And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

かくて真夜中に叫び発れり。見よ、花婿来る、彼に逢はんために出で来れ。

Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

そのときかの処女等みな起き、且つ己自らの燈火を整へたり。

And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

かくて愚なる者等、怜き者等にいへり。汝等のエライオンのうちを我等に与へよ。そは我等の燈火は熄（き）えかかりたればなり。

But the wise answered, saying, [Not so]; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

然るに怜き者等答へて、云ひけるは、恐らくは我等と汝等とのためには足るまじ。されば寧ろ商ふ者の許に往きて、己自らのために買ふは勝れり。

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

乃ち彼等の買はんとて去りしとき、花婿到れり。されば備へある者等は彼と共に婚筵に入りたれば、戸は鍵せられたり。

Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

かくて後に余の処女等来り、云ひけるは、主よ、主よ、我等のために開き給へ。　　　　　　。　　　　　　　

１２.
But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

然るに彼答へていへり、誠にわれ汝等に云はん、我は汝等を知らず。

１３
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

是の故に汝等目を覚ましをれ。そは人の子の来らんとする、日をもまた時をもしらざればなり。

For [the kingdom of heaven is] as a man travelling into a far country, [who] called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

そは〔天国は〕或る人の遠国に往くとき、己の奴僕を召して、これにその有ち物を委ねしが如ければなり。

１５
And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

即ちおのおのその力に循ひて、或る者には五タラント、また或る者には二〔タラント〕、また或る者には一〔タラント〕を与へ、かくて直に遠国に往けり。

Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made [them] other five talents.

かくて五タラントを受けたる者は往きて、それにて商ひ、且つ別に五タラントを儲けたり。

And likewise he that [had received] two, he also gained other two.

二〔タラント〕の者も等しく為して、彼も別に二〔タラント〕を儲けたり。

But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

然るに一〔タラント〕を受けし者は去って地を掘り、且つその主の銀子（ぎんす）を隠したり、

After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

かくて多くの時の後、かの奴僕等んも主来りて彼等と勘定せんとす。

２０
And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

乃ち五タラントを受けし者進み来り、別の五タラントを持ち出だし、云ひけるは、主よ、汝は我に五タラントを委ねたり、見よ、その上に別の五タラントを儲けたり。

His lord said unto him, Well done, [thou] good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

乃ちその主述べけるは、宜しきかな、善且つ信（まこと）なる奴僕よ、汝は少しの物の信なりき。われ汝を多くの物の上に据ゑん。汝の主の喜びに入り来れ。

He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

また二タラントを受けし者も進み来りていへり、主よ、汝は我に二タラントを委ねたり。見よ、その上に別の二タラントを儲けたり。

２３
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

その主述べけるは、宜しきかな、善且つ信（まこと）なる奴僕よ、汝は少しの物の信なりき。われ汝を多くの物の上に据ゑん。汝の主の喜びに入り来れ。

Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

また一タラントを受けし者も進み来りていへり、主よ、われ汝の厳しき人にて、播かざるところを穫り、また散らさざるところより集むることを知れり。

And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, [there] thou hast [that is] thine.

されば懼れて去り、汝のタラントを地のなかに隠せり。見よ、汝は汝の「ものを得たり。

His lord answered and said unto him, [Thou] wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

乃ちその主答へて彼にいふ、悪しき且つ惰者（なまけもの）なる奴僕よ、汝われは播かざるところを穫り、また散らさざるところより集むることを知るか。

Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and [then] at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

是の故に汝は必ず我が銀子を両替所に置かざるべからざりしなり。されば我が来りしとき、利子と同に我がものを得たりしものを。

Take therefore the talent from him, and give [it] unto him which hath ten talents.

是の故に彼よりタラントを取れ。かくて十タラントを有つ者に与へよ。

For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

そはすべて有つ者には与へられて余りあるべく、されど有たぬ者よりは、その有てるものさへ取り去られるべければなり。

３０
And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

また無要なる奴僕を暗に、外に掴み出だせ。そこにて歎くこと、また切歯することあるならん。

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

また人の子はその栄光の内に、且つすべての聖き使等は彼と共に来るとき、そのとき彼は栄光の位に坐し、

And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth [his] sheep from the goats:

またすべての国人をその前に集め、牧者の子山羊より羊を別（わか）つ如く互のうちより彼等を別たん。

And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

即ち羊をかれの右手に、また子山羊をその左手に置くべし。

３４
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

そのとき王はその右手なる者に謂ふならん、いざ来れ、我が父の祝し給ふ者よ、汝等のために世の創より〔このかた〕備へられたる国を嗣（つ）げ。

３５,
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

そはわれ飢ゑしに汝等われの喰はしめ、われ渇きしに汝等われに飲ましめ、われ旅人なりしに汝等われを連れ入れ、

３６.
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

われ裸なりしに汝等われに着せ、われ病みしに汝等われを顧み、われ監倉に在りしに汝等我が許に来りたればなり。

３７;
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee]? or thirsty, and gave [thee] drink?

そのとき義しき者等、彼に答へて云ひけるは、主よ、我等は何時飢ゑ給ひし汝を見て連れ入れ参らせしや。或は渇き給ひしに飲ませ参らせしや。

When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? or naked, and clothed [thee]?

またいつ我等は旅人にお橋氏汝を見て連れ入れ参らせしや。或は裸にておはししに着せ参らせしや。　　　　　　

３９
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

またいつ我等は病み、また監倉におはしし汝を見て汝の許に到り参らせしや。

４０
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.

乃ち王答へて彼等に謂ふならん、まことにわれ汝等に云はん、我が兄弟なる此等のいと小さき者の一〔人〕に汝等の為ししは、即ち汝等われに為ししなり。

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

そのとき彼は左手なる者等にも謂ふならん、詛（のろ）はれたる者よ、我を離れて悪魔とその使どものために、備へられたる恒（とこしへ）の火のなかに往け。

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

そはわれ飢ゑしに汝等われに喰はしめず、われ渇きしに汝等われの飲ましめず、

I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

われ旅人なりしに汝等われを連れ入れず、裸なり死に汝等われに着せず、病みまた監倉に在りしに汝等われを顧みざりしが故なり。

Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

そのとき彼等も答へて、云ひけるは、主よ、いつ我等は飢ゑ、或は渇き、或は旅人、或は裸、或は病み、或は監倉に〔おはしし〕汝を見て、汝に事へ参らせざりしや。

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] not to one of the least of these, ye did [it] not to me.

そのとき彼は彼等に答ふるならん、云ひけるは、誠にわれ汝等に云はん、此等のいと小さき者の一〔人〕に汝等の為さざりしは、即ち汝等我に為さざりしなり。　　　　　　

４６.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

かくて此等の者は恒の刑罰に去り往き、また義しき者は恒の生に往かん。
